Jim Beam or Jack Daniels

It’d make sense. It’s a much better bourbon, or at least to me it is. I liked the Extra Aged okay but still enjoyed White Label more. Also preferred Devil’s Cut over it. The 7 Year is whole different story though.

Another really good one for the price is the Early Times Bottled in Bond. I was skeptical at first because I always knew of Early Times as the cheap stuff alcoholics would get once they scrounged up enough change for a half pint. Bottled in Bond is something else though. I haven’t met anyone the doesn’t love it.
Yeah, Beam is moving back towards having more age statements, which I am definitely a fan of!

Early Times BiB (Bottled In Bond) is very good, I agree. In WI where I live, it is typically $26.99 but I can get Knob Creek 9 Year for $29.99, so I usually spend the extra $3 and do that. From what I understand, Knob Creek isn’t that cheap in a lot of other places though.

750ml?

cant do either one of those but I'm not judging. Jameson is the go to option for me for whiskey.

Agree. If you could somehow actually find them at MSRP they’d be fantastic for the price, but that’s just about impossible. I have one Van Winkle in my modest collection, the Rip Van Winkle 10 Year. It’s one of my absolute favorite bourbons ever, and we were lucky enough to win it as a prize in a raffle—all we had to pay for was the raffle tickets. We bought 2 tickets at $20 each, so I managed to snag it for $40 total. That shit was straight up crazy luck and will never happen again lol.

Pappys is great honestly Blantons is right there with it at 1/5 the price. If I'm buying a ultra pricey bottle of booze I'm going Louis 13th congac you taste the difference there - of your a booze snob I definitley reccomend at least once - greatness in a a great bottle too.

Jack Daniels

And it's better with coke

Blanton’s has gotten insane too. I actually saw a bottle when I was out and about today, it was priced at $199. <lol>
My last bottle I paid $70, but it’s really hard to find at an affordable price near me, so I am out of regular Blanton’s atm.I do have a Blanton’s Gold though which is great,

Neither.

Support local distilleries
I try and do that too. I’m in WI and have toured Dancing Goat and J, Henry, and I have bottles from there too. Gonna try to get up to Driftless Glen distiller this summer.

Jack Daniels for sure. Shit, I’d rather drink Evan Williams than Jim Beam.

Beam. Both are great but Beam was my first love lol. I have just had more good solid times on Beam and liked the way it made me feel.

On the topic of under appreciated bourbon with sentimental value...

I love me some Old Granddad.

It's cheap but for whatever reason I do not remember it ever hurting me and I like the flavor. And the higher proof is good too, I think the 100 is one I used to drink quite a bit. Great in a mixed drink, good enough to drink straight if you are a fairly seasoned drinker which I was when I would drink it.

Never really drank much Jim Beam.

JD was always my go to.

That’s another Jim Beam product I forgot about! They make Old Granddad too.

Yeah it's usually between $35-$40 at most of the stores I go to around here in Knoxville TN. Fortunately my new job is just a couple of miles from Total Wine & Spirits and they usually have great prices...I guess just due to the fact that they're so large. They have Knob Creek for just over $30, which is good because it's probably my favorite Beam bourbon after Booker's. The issue with Booker's though is that it's expensive when you consider that you never really know exactly what you're getting, unless you've already tried that batch. Some years are absolutely phenomenal but occasionally you'll find one that leaves a lot to be desired.

Also, I definitely have to recommend that everyone here pickup a bottle of this Johnnie Walker High Rye as soon as possible. I stumbled across it a week or two ago on sale for half price. Rye whiskey isn't my go-to but I don't hate it like a lot of people. This is definitely NOT a rye whiskey though. There's hints of rye but it's much more subtle than I anticipated. After spending some quality time with it, I believe this is my new favorite Johnnie Walker. I like it more than Blue and Gold Label. At the moment, if I had a gun to my head, I dare say I'd even pick it over Green Label. It still tastes like a Johnnie Walker but it stands out from the rest of their lineup more so than any of their other offerings in my opinion.

I haven’t had Beam in ages but I remember thinking it was disgusting
