Nunes vs Harrison who do you got?

I suspect Kayla handled her in training. Dunno if they trained together. Nunes has puncher's chance. I believe Kayla can stop her on the ground.

Nunes has had one flukey loss in the last decade.

Kayla got soundly beaten by Pacheco.

Nunes is the right side here.

Nunes also got bullied and out grappled by Cat Zingano. How many good fighters has Nunes really ever beaten? Kind of the problem with WMMA. An older Cyborg?

You might be right, but holding a loss over Harrison seems unfair and illogical. Nunes lost to Alexis Davis, Sarah D'Aelio, and Juliana Pena then. So what does that mean? I thought Valentina possibly beat her, either way smaller weight class fighter very close split decision. WMMA is very inconsistent, even the best fighters drop fights (at a higher rate) to "bums" and lesser fighters randomly. Are we supposed to be impressed by Nunes' latest opponents and wins too? Felicia Spencer, Meagan Anderson, rematch win after the loss to Juliana Pena, Irene Aldana?

Idk, I think otherwise. Nunes is a butch esque woman who held a physical advantage and aggressiveness advantage over most other women in the UFC during her reign. She struggled against someone like Cat. It's pretty clear Kayla Harrison is going to have the size/strength and grappling advantage over Nunes. I see Harrison subbing her.

Who's gonna win buddeh?<28>

Honestly don't watch WMMA enough to know
At this point of Nunes's career, I think I like Harrison. I think she can get takedowns and get Nunes tired; maybe win by submission late in the fight.

Yes. Pacheco improved over the course of those three fights. Kayla didn't.

That could be true but all three of those fights were at 155 and Pacheco hasn't made 135 since 2015. Harrison has claimed Pacheco was bigger but even if that's not true, contextually their 3rd fight was the PFL WMMA 155 version of Cejudo over Mighty Mouse.

I think motivated Kayla with that look in her eye fighting at sea level dismantles Pacheco at 135. And if Harrison beats Nunes which I think she will, hopefully we get to see it because that's the only interesting fight left for Kayla at 135 unless Cyborg can make the weight.

Harrison is the rightful favorite.

Nunes had her "flukey" loss to Pena when she had a 14 month old. You're not sleeping for shit with a baby in the house. Even if your wife gets up and handles it, you're still getting woken up every night.

Harrison had a flukey loss to Pacheco (who she beat twice before) a year after she adopted her niece and nephew, the youngest being around 2. Won't presume to know her kids, but 2 year olds like to wake up in the middle of the night and go wake up mommy. So Mommy isn't sleeping for shit.

Harrison's kids are now 6 and 13 and she's a new champ with everything to prove. Nunes' kids are now 2 and 5 and she has nothing to prove and spent the last 2.5 years hanging out with her kids and presumably skipping holiday junk food and Xmas dinner so she can make weight during fight camp? Yeah fuck that.
Interesting points. With the Harrison loss, even if the youngest kid was 2, that whole situation sounded like a ton of stress on all involved. I can't imagine she was able to focus on training in any real way during that time period. Honestly I didn't give two shits about Harrison until I learned more about that entire story. She's a hell of a lady; definitely earned my respect and made me a bit of a fan.

Same here. Other than her Judo background I didn't know much about Harrison until they started showcasing her interviews, doing UFC embedded etc. And from what they've shown, she comes across nothing but class. I'm a fan.

Can usually trust Kayla to bring the violence, I wouldn't bet against her

Has there been any word on where Nunes is training for this fight? Before her last fight, she left ATT and started her own "Lioness Training Center" but only had a couple of training partners, it sounded like basically a private gym for her camps.

Not to say this methodology can't work, but in many many cases it does not, and doesnt serve the athlete to not have the accountability, different looks, and diversity of a full fledged mma gym.
