News Jeremy Stephens Returns To The UFC To Fight Mason Jones At UFC Iowa May 3rd

Wait, it's definitely a one-fight deal?

Well that's fucking lame.

I could understand it if he took it to see if he wanted to continue or not, and possibly retire. But if he's definitely going back to BKFC afterwards then fuck that shit. Vanity project bollocks from Dana and Jeremy.

Yes its a one fight deal and thats the only reason it makes sense. Nobody wants to see him back full time when he's like 1-8 or something in his last fights and in his upper 30's. He comes back for a fight in his hometown, UFC gets a local who can help sell tickets not that they need it and he can get a hometown fight.

Yeah well that's not for me, mate.

That's piss poor.

I don't mind others enjoying it, I'm not a Grinch or anything, enjoy the fuck out of it if it's your bag, just think it's kinda embarrassing and not something I want to see going forward. Imagine some all-but-retired local hack appearing on every UFC event around the country/globe to play to a local audience, no thanks, hard pass. I know they won't because it's obviously a personal favour and blatant cronyism, but I'm not down. Never mind. I'll ignore this one and let those that want to enjoy it enjoy it.

surprised he came back, maybe for one fight in his hometown I could see but if its a multi fight deal I'm surprised. He was perfect for BKFC, doing well, seemed made for it.
He needs a fight to stay active before he goes for the BFKC belt. This is a time filler for him. 1st rd ko.

One minute it looks like BKFC pays a ton, the next it looks so bad that Jeremy is coming back to the UFC to fight for peanuts and Rebook coupons despite being on a great tear in BKFC.
Alvarez, Rockhold, and Perry said good things about pay.

Put a bet on Mason to finish him to double your money instead, that way you get something out of it lol.

Who cares? The fight should be entertaining

if it isn't it's a total waste of everyone's time... I mean this record SCREAMS legend!

WTF is this bullshit??

When is the next fight in Melvin Guillard's hometown? Let's bring him back too!

WTF are we doing here??

I'm sure the only reason he's back is to ride the small wave of his success in BKFC and it being Stephens home state. Maybe he has a good relationship with Dana for being a UFC company man so they're helping each other out.

February 24th 2018 was the last time Stephens had a UFC win

Let that sink in

I definitely see what you're saying but UFC is probably backpacking off his recent BKFC success where he's 3-0 and just finished Eddie Alvarez.

I don't get it Stephens has been anything but exciting in PFL while taking Ls why bring him back older and weaker than ever? He's not even a star.

Dana has always had a weird hard on for Stephens.

He sent the UFC lawyers to try to get Stephens bailed out of jail so that he could fight the same weekend that he got arrested for outstanding warrants in his home state.

This is MMA bro, come on

NO UFC WIN SINCE FEB 2018

I know, I'm just trying to see what the UFC is doing here. That Stephens vs Alvarez fight was a recent BKFC main event so it probably makes sense to the execs.

Jeremy Stephens deserves the opportunity to extend his UFC record for most losses.

It should be viewed as nothing but embarrassing for the UFC, IMO

and I seriously wonder how much of an impact he will have on ticket sales

(not arguing with ya, just saying)

Never been a Stephen’s fan but good for him, especially if pieces of work like Molina are getting signed there.
