Jemele Hill suspended by ESPN

Take a stab at what you're called.

The poster you were responding to doesn't believe that... what a stupid and hackish thing to say.

What do you think "hackish" means?

Also, clearly that was his point.

You have done no such thing. You still think I changed opinions on the EC. The EC wasn't even my beef then although I didn't understand that at the time. My beef was and still is, that the states function in a winner takes all fashion. We could abolish the EC and this would still be the case... All you've proven is my ignorance which I've already admitted. It's not that hard to admit when you're wrong Hack. You should try it sometime

No, you were passionately arguing against the EC in October of last year. Right after the election, you started passionately defending it. Because you don't have any principles. Whatever is good for the GOP, you will argue. You're not a man; you're just a loyal servant. You will find zero examples of me ever being as hackish as you.

Bite the hand that feeds long enough and you don't get food. Simple concept.

Incorrect. More options, more ways to view without ownership, and the basic binge/purge has to do with it. Sports all-day-every-day was a wildly exciting concept for a lot of people. Then, over time, you become less interested. Mix that with rising fixed prices, ability to simply go watch at a bar (or just not at all), and the many easily-accessed streaming sites.... why would you want ESPN?

Probably most important is that nobody really needs all those damn channels, but the price of cable packages keep rising. Then you have your season passes for the sport you actually want. Because of that, ESPN isn't really the anchor that will keep you paying for 500 useless channels just to watch it.

SJW shit is just the usual whiny excuse from conservative snowflakes.

You can rationalize things all you want but the owners of ESPN, as well as the owners in the NFL, recognize that all this sjw nonsense is hurting their businesses and they are responding.

She wasnt fired for calling anyone a racist. READ the link in the op

You should read the posts you're responding to. I did, and I responded to someone who said she should have been fired for her comments about Trump.

Chart was titled "CHART: ESPN is starting to feel the impact of cord cutting - Business Insider". I'd doubt the NFL watcher is in the core cord cutter demo.

I mean if your position that the sjw nonsense isn't costing them viewership then we can agree to disagree.

You do understand that players were kneeling and it pretty much became a non-issue until Trump decided to bring it up on the stump in Alabama though right? And then since it was dying down and not being talked about anymore Pence was sent to Indianapolis for his silly walk out stunt?

The WH is pushing this issue to the forefront more than any players were, or any reporters were.
They see it as something that their base will get behind. Good publicity and they will milk it for all it's worth.

Criminals get jacked by police, athlete decides to kneel instead of stand for archaic tradition of honoring national flag to make a statement about unfair treatment of criminals, Buffonish president makes dumb remark about kneelers, more athletes begin to kneel, this time because President is a white... supremacist? Chaos ensues.

Thanks for this Jihadi Colin.
lol what a outraged minority.

She was pretty much asking for it.
She is a one trick pony anyways and used to write for the Orlando Sentinel. I was always amazed she got a job with ESPN because her columns for the Sentinel were not very good.

Protesting during the anthem doesn't mean you don't love ones country. It's exercising ones freedom. It's a mindful protest with a stated purpose. Kaepernick sat initially and he was confronted by a military vet teammate who encouraged him to kneel because it would be active protesting and taking a knee is symbolic whereas sitting is passive and could be seen as disrespectful.
I don't think you understood what I was saying.

I just said that you dolt. I was arguing against the EC out of ignorance. In that thread I made it clear what I was upset about. The all or nothing nature of each state left people feeling like their vote didn't count. This is why I changed my opinion on the EC because it has nothing to do with "all or nothing" within the states.

You think i'm a servant of the GOP? oh my goodness that is rich. I wonder why so many people call you hack? You inject tribalism into nearly every post. I've never heard 1 person use the terms partisan or tribalism more then you have. You seem to be obsessed with it

she's basically just eye candy anyway.

There's lots about him that implies it, but that is completely irrelevant here. I'm commenting on the common view that free speech just means freedom to praise the gov't and right-wing opinions. If you guys don't believe in freedom of speech for people you disagree with, you don't really believe in it at all.
Right wingers consistently engage in debate with leftists on this forum, in fact I don't think I've ever seen a right wing poster even say you shouldn't be able to use your freedom of speech. In fact, I've seen most poster agree it's their right but that they don't understand that just because it's their right doesn't mean they are right.

I didn't know you could violate a guideline.

That's not what I said either

Hmm. I'll play. What did you say? Seems pretty clear that you're saying that only right-wingers should be allowed to publicly express their views. Hill should be fired for calling the president a racist, but you and Trump can accuse everyone else of being racists and you presumably don't think you should be fired for it.

That's only because you lack the power to shut down discussion here, isn't it? You came in with "shut up" because you didn't like me noticing what @LogicalInsanity was up to. Generally speaking, right-wingers here try to make their case with social pressure (you're a doody-head if you don't agree with them) rather than rational argumentation.

Your posts are still up. You completely abandon your principles when your party changes. You have no center. You'll never see me inject tribalism into any post, though I'll certainly call it out when I see it, as that's one of the biggest issues here. If one wants to understand the underlying reason that you guys seem so dumb, it's that you aren't using reason to reach conclusions.
