Jemele Hill suspended by ESPN

Well even playing the anthem is interjecting politics into sports in the first place. Also DOD paid the NFL to have the "tribute to the troops" moments at various stadiums.

I wouldn't call love for one's country politics.

People were changing the channel regardless.

Yes, in large part because of commentators like Jemele Hill and all the SJW politics that goes on there. People don't like it.

Who thinks free speech just means freedom to praise the govt. and right wing opinions? You wonder why you're called Hack Savage with posts like this lol
Well, a lot of republicans see someone criticize the government and their first reply is "if you don't like this country why don't you just get out" as if being able to criticize faults within the government isn't one of the principles in which this country was founded on.

Awesome....she can spend her time off sucking a dog's dick.

Good for ESPN.

@Jack V Savage Pretty sure you get called this daily

Called what?

The poster I was responding to, for example. The fact that you choose to respond with an insult (something that you've cleverly invented by rhyming with my username) rather than an argument says it all, doesn't it?

It's also a funny insult coming from you to me given that I already proved definitively that you have no principles and change your positions based on tribalism.

Incorrect. More options, more ways to view without ownership, and the basic binge/purge has to do with it. Sports all-day-every-day was a wildly exciting concept for a lot of people. Then, over time, you become less interested. Mix that with rising fixed prices, ability to simply go watch at a bar (or just not at all), and the many easily-accessed streaming sites.... why would you want ESPN?

Probably most important is that nobody really needs all those damn channels, but the price of cable packages keep rising. Then you have your season passes for the sport you actually want. Because of that, ESPN isn't really the anchor that will keep you paying for 500 useless channels just to watch it.

SJW shit is just the usual whiny excuse from conservative snowflakes.

It's a logical question. It doesn't mean they don't agree with their right to speech though

Just another reason to hate Jerruh Jones. Regardless she doesn't take to her employers very well. The more I listen to her the more she comes off as another Al Sharpton. Classic instigator and that does ZERO good for anyone. When you work for a private company there are consequences for your actions. Surprised it took this long. She'll end up getting herself fired IMO.

Not my words at all. Or even close to it.

How is it different? You constantly accuse liberals of being racists, no? But you want someone to be fired simply because she reasonably thinks that Trump is. The idea is to use power to silence dissent rather than arguments, isn't it?

Yeah, I know. I don't know why this is a story in the wr.

I think you are having a hard time accepting that people just don't want to see that. They're not being sensitive or upset...they are just changing the channel.

Protesting during the anthem doesn't mean you don't love ones country. It's exercising ones freedom. It's a mindful protest with a stated purpose. Kaepernick sat initially and he was confronted by a military vet teammate who encouraged him to kneel because it would be active protesting and taking a knee is symbolic whereas sitting is passive and could be seen as disrespectful.

Racism should always be condemned...regardless of political affiliation....or the race of the racist.

Take a stab at what you're called.

The poster you were responding to doesn't believe that... what a stupid and hackish thing to say.

I didn't invent calling you Hack. That started long before I started posting while I was still a lurker.

You have done no such thing. You still think I changed opinions on the EC. The EC wasn't even my beef then although I didn't understand that at the time. My beef was and still is, that the states function in a winner takes all fashion. We could abolish the EC and this would still be the case... All you've proven is my ignorance which I've already admitted. It's not that hard to admit when you're wrong Hack. You should try it sometime

Chart was titled "CHART: ESPN is starting to feel the impact of cord cutting - Business Insider". I'd doubt the NFL watcher is in the core cord cutter demo.
