Jeff Novitzky on JRE clearing Jones' name

Whether or not Jones INTENDED to cheat, the fact is he did. Intent has very little impact on suspensions and even less so on Jones' pending suspension.

Besides, if you've read the UFC Anti-Doping policy you'd know that even if unintentional, he's at fault.

UFC Anti-Doping Policy states:
"2.1.1 It is each Athlete’s personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited Substance enters his or her body. Athletes are responsible for any Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers found to be present in their Samples. Accordingly, it is not necessary that intent, Fault, negligence or knowing Use on the Athlete’s part be demonstrated in order to establish an Anti-Doping Policy Violation under Article 2.1."

"2.2.1 It is each Athlete’s personal duty to ensure that no Prohibited Substance enters his or her body and that no Prohibited Method is Used. Accordingly, it is not necessary that intent, Fault, negligence or knowing Use on the Athlete’s part be demonstrated in order to establish an Anti-Doping Policy Violation for Use of a Prohibited Substance or a Prohibited Method."

Thus why in the dick pill case he received the maximum suspension, even though it couldn't be proven that he cheated intentionally, the fact is he did cheat.

Then you've got all the Aggravating Circumstances. Things like:
  • The fact his story last time didn't add up and wasn't consistent ("referred to anything like the detail of their oral statements which were themselves not wholly consistent as to what happened, where and when, on the evening in question"
  • The fact the arbitration panel last time found Jones evasive ("The Applicant has not been candid on his doping control form and gave different excuses for that lack of candour")
  • His excuse/story wasn't believed last time ("the whole story told by the protagonists lacked the clear ring of truth and had rather the indistinct sound of contrivance.")
  • Both last time and this time, Jones did not list ANY supplements (as required) on his Doping Control Form at the time the sample was collected. ("the doping control form, in which the Applicant expressly stated that he "has no substances (…) to declare". and elsewhere it's stated "The Applicant has not been candid on his doping control form and gave different excuses for that lack of candour")
  • Jones was all but called a liar and (IMO) bordered on perjury ("able to expose some errors, omissions and other disturbing features in the declarations of both the Applicant and Mr. Blasich, each sworn to be true and correct under penalty of perjury.")
  • The "dick pills" were not considered tainted supplements ("the Applicant cannot utilise the Contaminated Product rule. ... and could not reasonably be deployed by someone who should never, according to the label, have taken the pill in the first place."
  • Jones was found to be at fault due to a lack of care ("consider the degree of care (or - its opposite - fault) that the Applicant displayed" - multiple examples of Jones lack of care/concern are listed)
  • What an athlete puts into their body is their own responsibility ("The regulations which governed his conduct as a UFC athlete placed the responsibility for what entered into his system fairly and squarely on him" - again, multiple examples are given of what Jones should have done but choose not to do.)
  • Jones dick pill defense was so shitty, "The Panel was ultimately compelled to ask itself not how much more could the Applicant had done, but how much less. It concluded that the Applicant's degree of fault was at the very top end of the scale." - they even go on to say that Jones didn't take any steps to mitigate his degree of fault.)
  • Jones agent (Malki Kawa) hurt rather than helped Jones' defensive case (the advice and counsel Kawa gave Jones was "bizarre and the reverse of helpful")
  • Jones didn't even bother to educate himself even slightly on the UFC's Anti-Doping Policy and instead let Malki (or Malki's brother) confirm that Jones knew how to follow the Anti-Doping Policy. (To which the panel found "This was yet another example of the Applicant's casual rather than careful attitude to his responsibilities.")
Obviously Jones is an idiot, and learned nothing from the dick pill incident. Therefore he's likely to get even less consideration this time (and last time he received the maximum suspension - which this time is 4+ years).

So Jones was found to be at fault last time and he will found to be at fault this time as well (which has already been established when his B-Sample also tested positive). Jones will be suspended for a very long time (as I've been saying for months, he'll likely be suspended for 48-54 months - and since he'll be tested throughout his suspension, there's essentially a 100% chance he fails yet another drug test, which means he's done with mma).
"On the evidence before the Panel, the Applicant is not a drug cheat. He did not know that the tablet he took contained prohibited substances or that those substances had the capacity to enhance sporting performance"

The pictures you are talking about are 2 years a part, comparing his worst physical shape ever when out of camp vs flexing in his prime. Get real.

Some people on here don’t even know what the inside of a gym looks like, so the wouldn’t understand the concept of the progress you can make through training.

Especially if you add a strength and conditioning program to your training

Or if you’re a gifted athlete with money and access to the best nutrition.

Or you don’t have s 9-5 so you can optimise your rest.

Or the fact that you don’t just train 1 hour 3 times a week like a member of public, but you do it like it’s a full time job.

Not saying he’s definitely clean. But using Jones’ pictures as and indication of steroid use is laughable, and plays up to the idea that most people on here are 240 lbs basement dwellers who gas just from ordering their papa johns pizza on their phones.

Wow the Jones defenders still exist!

But...how? Are they just the dumbest or most naive people on the planet?

If this was true why would they 1) Implement the USADA drug testing program 2) Pull and strip Jones 4 days before the biggest landmark event in UFC history

Well, I don't believe that USADA are corrupt. The UFC added USADA because they wanted to grow the sport and give it more legitimacy. They're probably super pissed at Jon for getting caught doing steroid.

Rather, when I say "too much money", I mean the UFC (i.e. Jeff) are helping Jon come up with an excuse. They've probably been testing every supplement under the sun to find the ones that contain Turinabol, then they will pick the one that seems the least sketchy. They'll produce some fake receipt that someone he knew bought some of the stuff, and say that Jones took it "just once" before the fight when he was travelling, saying he forgot his own protein supplement.

They'll produce just enough doubt to muddy the waters... and with a receipt and admission from Jones, it will be really hard to find him guilty of willful doping. That could get his sentence cut in half, which would probably be 2 years instead of 4.

Sadly that kind of effort just isn't available to lesser known fighters. It's really unfair, but so is life.
