The whole notion we are in trouble due to low birth rates is about a silly a notion you could think of and so is the lefts proposals to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

You've got your head in the sand if you don't think its a problem. I know you guys are so pathologically against "z-zoinks, immigration!" that anything that sounds even close to a justification for it sends you into a tizzy but the reality is that declining fertility rates are a problem for modern societies based on our current economic model.

Solving that problem doesn't mean "mass immigration"(whatever that even means) so the conversation around it need not always come back to the question of immigration. Israel has a perfectly fine fertility rate and they only readily integrate immigrants of a Jewish background(i.e. of a similar culture) so addressing the issue doesn't mean accepting a low income, poorly educated labor class from an alien culture.

The reason it’s always brought up in the same sentence is most if not all low birth rate articles mention immigration as a “ cure” or solution. Also what other reasons can you think of that birth rates are such an issue?

Oh as along time resident. Abemomics, which has pushed for more women workers. Went from like 30 to 75% female participation. So now women work and then have to do tons of hosiery with no dryers or dishwashers. Then their husband's come home super late and can't help. It's no wonder the birth rate is catering. It's basically nose diving since more women work and the fact they have have karoshi here.

Kinda. It doesn't help that Japanese workers are very inefficient per hour worked. They needed more workers and threw women at the problem. Which will lead to less kids being born, which is making things worse.

Yeah Google it real quick. Basically GDP per hour is like a third less than most developed nations. Less is more. Tired overworked workers aren't very productive. Most of my adult students are tired and burnt out.
