why does no one accuse Jan of using PED's when he magically went from a pillow-fisted grappler to a knock out artist in such a short span of time?

First of all, I would be more surprised to learn that Jan was not on the sauce than to have it confirmed that he was. But it's not really true that Jan was pillow-fisted before. His technique has gotten better, and he uses his hands more. But his power hasn't necessarily improved at all.

If the fight lasted extra 10 seconds Izzy would have had his head bashed in. Jan dominated the fight and took it exactly where he wanted it when he wanted it, he made a tiny miscalculation in the very end and was a little too late to posture up for deadly ground and pound.

It takes two to tango. It takes a very specific type of fighter and matchup to get past someone's deliberate attempt to do nothing but setup traps and counter strike for 25 minutes.

People always refuse to look at the context when it's inconvenient which to me is hilarious coming from people watching this sport for 20 years or 2 years. Doesn't seem to matter.

I don't think there is any version of Jan that is on the level of DC or Jones in his prime. The guy couldn't beat Manuau and Cummins when he was 20 fights into his career and his athletic prime. It's a pretty thin field right now, so we have Jan.
