Media Jamie Varner not a fan of Laura Sanko's commentary

I won't fighter bash but I will go out on the shortest limb ever to inform you guys that Varner is not a good person, and not someone I'd vouch for for a job, a rental, wouldn't let him watch my gold fish, etc.

I remember a shitload of fighters specifically saying they don't watch fighting. If that's the case, since commentary is mostly rooted in watching fights, those fighters would be the  least experienced people to be commentators, by his "logic."

I will take an obsessive nerd over a guy who just enjoys fighting any day of the week to do my commentary. And then there’s the nerd fighters like Cruz who have amazing knowledge but their built in biases for styles over other styles can sometimes ruin their commentary. Not to mention they tend to be specialists in one field. I like Varner. Enjoyed watching him fight. But he’s off on this one.

Rogan himself can be as biased as can be, he's proven that many times.
Same with DC.

Yes, they both know how to fight (DC in particular, obviously) - but it doesn't mean they are perfect as commentators, either.

Point being, none of these cats are without fault.
To go in hard on one particular commentator, that's cringeworthy.

And DC is insufferable at least half the time. Goldie was Goldie, ffs. There's two reasons Varner is going after Sanko just like there's two reasons people defend her. They're round and pointy when cold.

She's better. She's more professional and she actually does research unlike Cormier and Bisping.

She also has experience fighting. Not at a high level, but she knows what it's like to get hit the face.

I don't give a fuck who it triggers, the backlash against her is largely just misogyny.

That’s a bit harsh. She obviously works hard researching fighters and watching film and even if she hasn’t officially fought extensively, she’s trained for a long time at a legitimate MMA gym with UFC vets. She’s not going to have the intrinsic fight knowledge of a Bisping or DC, but I’m sure even they’d admit that she studies the cards harder than they do. Tbh I don’t see how she’s any less qualified than Rogan, which isn’t to say that Rogan shouldn’t be commentating. He absolutely should. I just don’t see the issue with sanko. She clearly loves the sport, studies hard, is always respectful with her commentary, and rarely says anything illogical out there.
