He’d do well but Ank has grown a lot since then too
I’m not sure I believe that. He went on to win a belt since then and Craig hasn’t done much.It kinda seems like he has regressed in both his striking and grappling.

Jailton striking isnt very good, jiri and Ankalaev would maul him.If MW Paul Craig finished the champion, imagine what Malhadinho would do
Spivac is a good grappler himself. He also has great takedowns from the clinch due to his sambo/judo background.Jailton is overrated, spivac reversed him and had success grappling him and curtis exploited his predictable style. Couldn't finish derrick lewis and just laid on him for 5 rounds
It's the level of comp, brother. Paul Craig, especially back then when he was on the verge of being cut, was useless on the feet (still is for the most part tbh) and had no TDD since his whole game centered around his guard. Tyson Pedro ran him over on the mat in less than a round, that's why Ankalaev was able to do what he wanted for all but 10 seconds of the fight. It depends on how you see it. He has developed a much safer risk-free style which has gotten him far, but he had a more dynamic striking with vicious knockouts and he could aggressively take fights to the ground at will when he decided to. I do realize his level of competition has gotten better but still.
