Jab KO In UFC?

Forrest threw this fight

He's not even out here. He just pretended to be Ko'd so he didn't have to fight anymore... He was lost in there
He looked terrible before that. He moved like he was underwater. Something was wrong w him

I thought Carwin KO'd someone with a short arm punch that looked like it barely touched. Can't remember who tho…..

It was a hook on Gonzaga but he didnt pull back to throw it,just swung it out there and put gonzo out. His first must be a boulder

Anderson beat the shit out of Forrest in that fight. He knocked him down twice before Forrest said no more and tagged him good before that. It's not like that jab/cross (hard to say when he is moving back) was the first punch Anderson landed and Forrest quit afterwards.

Not UFC, but the shitty jab on one foot running backwards that Petruzelli used to knock down Kimbo (And knocking the fuck out of Elite XC for good) was hilarious.

He had alot of problems going into that fight. The rumor was,he got ko'd twice by wanderlei in training camp. He probably had just had enough. Usually the jab KOs you DO see are like this, where the guy is just stunned and discombobulated on the floor, similar to Mir/Hunt

I don't believe Forrest Griffin threw the fight or wasn't trying but he did not look like his typical self. From the opening bell he did not appear the same. What it also explains is he should have never scheduled an opponent like Anderson Silva coming immediately off the loss to Rashad Evans.

Didn’t GSP jab someone coming in that went flying through the air and down? Can’t remember who it was.

Have we ever seen a jab KO in the UFC?

Not counting jab knock downs like the one Moicano landed on Cub or Cowboy on Edson.
Not a KO but Cerrone dropped Barboza with a jab

He was fighting Anderson and was terrified to the point he had to medicate himself to carm his nerves

Didnt Nick Diaz finish Lawler with a jab?

Kimbo vs Petruzelli was essentially a jab stoppage.

I dont know why people say Anderson KO'd Forest... it's pretty clear he gave up, he's not out. He's on the ground waiving his hand saying no more. Obviously it dropped him, and made him quit. But to say he KO'd him seems weird.
Winning by KO doesn’t mean you have to put your opponent unconscious. In boxing you win via knockout when your opponent can’t answer the 10 count, and you can then say you knocked your opponent out (under the rules of boxing), but that doesn’t mean that you put him unconscious.

It’s pretty much the same thing in MMA. If you drop your opponent with a punch and he falls to his back like Forrest did and offers no defense, then the ref is going to wave off the fight and it will 95% of the time go down as a KO as the fight was stopped due to a single blow in that sequence. Some form of accumulation, especially via ground strikes, is usually needed for the fight to be called a TKO. Jairzinho stopping Alrovski is a good recent example. Arlovski is clearly not unconscious but the fight is ended by a single blow and is correctly called a KO. When we say Jairzinho knocked out Arlovski, we say it because the fight ended officially via knockout; we’re not implying Jairzinho knocked him unconscious.

He dropped him, and he was not able to continue after that. It's a KO. A TKO is still a KO.
