Wouldn't he bring up the Dricus situation way before the Alex fight though? I mean if he's truly as bothered about it, like you claim, he should have brought it up earlier. Dricus has been push his "real African shtick" since last year. You're over analyzing this. He's selling a fight now that he's beaten all of the Top-5. I applaud Dricus and Adesanya because the division would be getting stale if Adesanya wasn't building new rivalries to market.

Izzy is a member of the millenial generation, so it isn't all that surprising to see him following the patterns of many others who embraced the same brainwashing/programming.
(Victim status seeking, repeating and espousing divisive race propaganda, etc)

- DDP stated literal undeniable FACTS which go against the worldview Izzy has been programmed with. (That Dricus is African and lives/breathes/trains in Africa) This causes cognitive dissonance and manifests in a temper tantrum, as is to be expected.

- Izzy has a chip on his shoulder from his time being the only black kid in NZ schools/neighborhoods.

No it would not be the same as Edwards moved to England when he was 9 years old and Bisping moved to the US later in his career.

We would have a similar situation if for example CroCop would still be active and saying that he wants to be the first Croatian UFC Champion, despite Pat Miletich and Stipe Miocic being former UFC champs. I mean in this case the "drama" would not be as big as all are from the same race and actually all 3 would agree to what Mirko said, but still, that would be somehow comparable.

Yeah. I'm sure some people in this thread think I hate the dude. I don't. I was a pretty big fan hence why I know his backstory.

A few things he has said really rub me the wrong way and make me think he may not be a particularly good person.

A) overt racism
B) faking like he came from poverty for clout

People make mistakes but both of those things are pretty hard to frame in a positive light.

That’s not what I’m claiming, I don’t know his actual emotional state and it wasn’t the point that he’s actually butt hurt or just playing that character… all I’m saying is that to a grown person he comes off as petty, immature and insecure.

It’s weird it’s like the dude was gifted every attribute to physically be a great martial artist, but was deprived of so many mental aspects.
