Izzy intensifies triggering over Du Plesis

Not sure where you got that from.

#6 is his ranking. It is relatively uncommon for a #6 ranked fighter to be getting significant press coverage as a potential title challenger.
.
It happens from time to time, People talk things into exsistance, but if you look at the people ranked ahead of him it's all people isreal fought recently. He's getting this coverage because, he's beaten everyone.

It's like when everyone was talking up number 5 ranked chris weidman to fight anderson silva soley because he was a fresh talent. When you've beaten 1(x2), 2 ,3 and 4(x2) already 5 makes sense

edit: Weidman was number 1 actually, but there are times where this happens. I get what you're saying there's a story behind it, and it adds to it's intrigue, but I dont want to detract from the idea that it is not logical matchmaking.

I really don't feel like anything I said at any point was a slight on DDP.

All I have said in this thread regarding DDP is compliment him for baiting izzy (and plenty of others) into helping to create a controversial narrative to hype a fight and have it sell better (if he gets there).

You're right about that.

but I actually don't think that was even dricus' intent when he first said it. I don't think he's "Playing the game" I think the media machine kinda poked that until he said something more provactive about it. Only to misinterpret it for clicks and such. I don't think there is any actual ill will there.

I'm open to suggestions if you have a better adjective.

Izzy defines himself as non binary, has died his hair pink and purple, exhibits victim status seeking hypocritical behavior such as talking about how "the favelas relate to him" (to attempt to portray himself as poor/rags to riches) when he grew up with servants, or portraying himself as a racism victim (which may be true) and then calling DDP a cracker or a whiteboy (thus making him a hypocrite).

If you have a better word to encapsulate that, let me know. I couldn't think of one and although I admit it isn't an exact match, I do think the "woke generation" as a descriptive term gets the point across.

I suppose maybe "millenial" could substitute, but that would, imo, be taking a lot of bystanders and painting them with the same wide brushstroke.
Are you ignoring the fact to tell an immigrant from any country that I’m the real deal (insert nationality) and to insinuate that person is somehow not of his people is disrespectful? Are you aware how many people on this earth would find that statement off putting if not a disrespect that could escalate into other things quickly? You are aware that due to the stigmas involving race and the history of Africa and South Africa that Adesanya would probably face scrutiny stepping back in Nigeria without addressing that? You seem to have a very strong opinion but if you take a step back you can clearly see DDP could have been as African and proud as he wanted to without any of the callout tactics. Since that’s the game he chose to play not you or anyone else gets to dictate how another person responds when you disrespect their culture instead instead of just doing you. This isn’t a fight to see who is most African it’s a damn fist fight. So he could have kept that to himself and Adesanya shouldn’t have responded. I just find it hypocritical to address one aspect but not the other.

I pasted the video below so you can draw your own interpretation.

I think he knew what he was doing.

I agree that I don't think it came from a place of ill will. It doesn't come off to me as malicious. I think it came from a place of his own personal pride, but I also think he was well aware that it would ruffle feathers and get attention, which is smart given the position he is in.

I think his intent is similar to the Eminem line "yall claim Detroit when you live 20 miles away" in the song "Marshall Mathers". Where he sees other people trying to get clout from associating themselves with somewhere they don't even live while he actually lives there.

The question occurs at 9:55.

It is good that Izzy shows some interest. It is honestly not a big deal. It helps generate buzz for the fight. Izzy is going to call him a colonizer or a cracker. DDP is going to say Izzy is not a real African. It will sell fights and everyone is happy. I like both fighters and I feel like they shouldn't have real animosity towards each other.

No one is dictating how he should respond, but when he does respond we can call him out for the insecure over emotional weirdo that he is.

DDP was clearly trolling and Izzy predictably took the bait and reconfirmed everything we already know about him.

this wasnt the first time he said it, i thought he gave a speech about it post fight against tavaras, but if this is the instance you're talking about fair play

Izzy is a member of the millenial generation, so it isn't all that surprising to see him following the patterns of many others who embraced the same brainwashing/programming.
(Victim status seeking, repeating and espousing divisive race propaganda, etc)

- DDP stated literal undeniable FACTS which go against the worldview Izzy has been programmed with. (That Dricus is African and lives/breathes/trains in Africa) This causes cognitive dissonance and manifests in a temper tantrum, as is to be expected.

- Izzy has a chip on his shoulder from his time being the only black kid in NZ schools/neighborhoods.

DDP is an easy matchup and provides an angle to promote the fight and maybe up the sale revenue. (Brilliant move by DDP)

Perfect storm to bring true colors to light of someone (Izzy) who believes he is entitled to be racist towards white people because he has been lead to believe that he is a victim and someone else is a perpetrator of shit that happened before either of them were even born which they had nothing to do with and which happened to all races of people all over the world for all of forever until recently.

* yes I know DDP = Diamond Dallas Page to wrestling fans but I don't know how to spell dudes name.

Jesus fucking christ dude queue the worlds smallest violin lmao the fact that you have the presence of mind to talk about people being programmed and falling for propaganda and then spewing this absolute smooth brained bullshit is just absolute peak 2023

Indeed.

No one is programmed and masses of people all happen to share the same exact views as the mainstream media pushes 24/7 by an amazing recurring coincidence.

Also I am a crazy nutter for having a different viewpoint.

Clearly.

Hmm. This is the only instance I am aware of, but it makes sense that he could have expressed similar sentiments phrased differently at a different time.

It’s the chest injury talking, which he received while training heavy hypertrophy weightlifting sessions, that looks like gyno but isn’t. It’s not gyno.

Also, Izzy is loyal to Africa. He’s a broken native, which you wouldn’t understand, unlike the other character who is a colonizer and doesn’t have similar chest inflammation.
Chest inflamamation's a bitch.

So much projection and virtue signaling there. I know it's very 2017 but I'd suggest a safe space and whatever meds you're prescribed.

TS has Izzy living rent-free in his headspace. Adesanya needs to sell fights. It's pretty obvious he and Dricus are drumming up the controversy to get the public interest. You're the like the guy who thinks he's the only one in an inside joke. <Lmaoo>

The health hazards caused by Alex Pereira's left hook needs to be studied by scientists in the future

Lmao I know, I know, its so hard being you. Maybe you can get a participation trophy with the rest of the "victims" so you can feel like you belong
