Izzy doesn't even need to cut to weight 205

Jan is slower than a HW, less technical than Ngannou, but with less power, and have average cardio/grappling.

One of the easiest fight in israel's career.

Does Jan never wrestle? I have only seen 2 of his fights.

I'm surprised guys like Whittaker chose to stand with Izzy when they should be trying to get him down. You're going to have to eat a shot from Izzy but you stand and bang then you eat even more.

One of the dumbest things I've seen around here.
How so? Adesanya's striking is far superior to Blachowicz's, and I don't think Jan is skilled enough as a grappler to get Izzy to the ground and keep him there. Izzy will also be significantly faster than Jan. Jan has a puncher's chance of course and he has the power to knock Izzy out if he lands something big, but that's really the only chance Jan has against Izzy. A puncher's chance.

Jon is effective at managing distance when he is way bigger/longer/taller.

He has struggled against guys who could physically match him like Reyes, Santos.

And while Jon may maintain control of distance, for the most part he isn’t doing damage at long range, but Izzy can dig into leg kicks from far out and his punches have more pop.

Jon needs to be able to keep the fight at close range to win. Clinch, cage, ground.
Jon is a beast fighting inside, toe to toe, like he fought Glover and at times DC.

Jon loses a kickboxing match.
Well said. Few here pay attention. Adesanya's striking pedigree compared to most in MMA, is also still highly slept in for some reason.

As you said, Jon has struggled in kickboxing range with guys who could match him physically. Guys with no where near the credentials Adesanya has.

He also isn't alwan able to take them down at will. Or keep them down. Adesanya has held his own in the grappling department as well so far.

When these two fight, Jon will definitely want to have Israel pinned to the mat or against the fence. With that said, Jon has to get a hold of him first and foremost and it seems to me that Israel is a much better dancer than Jon both inside and outside of the cage.

This fight should be epic.

We about to see Silva vs Forrest again

Griffin had zero pop. Never KOd anyone.
Polish power is off the scales.

Easily.

jones won’t be able to handle the speed and accuracy izzy would destroy him with.
You're the worst poster here. One of the worst ever.
It's actually impressive.
Congratulations.

It has the ingredients of an absolutely epic fight, the type of fight they make documentaries about and people tell their grandkids about.

*IF both men can win their next fights:

Champion vs (Double) Champion

#1 vs #2 P4P

in or relatively close to their primes

both fighters have a reasonable path to victory

arguable GOAT status

* both basically undefeated

Decent rivalry story and tension, they have been talking and selling the fight, building interest.

potential “passing of the guard”

but due to Israel’s late start in MMA, and Jon’s early start, they are close in age, so no “he just won because he was too old/green, Prime ____ would have killed him”

I made that a literally “big if” so as not to undersell the difficulty tasks both men face, should they defeat Jan and Stipe/Ngannou winner, but that is the way I see it happening, if it ever happens. Jon needs to win the HW belt for the optimal scenario, it would be silly as a non title fight and it would lose luster if either man loses in the interim.

hope it happens.

Jon is a master neutralizer so I would favor him to adapt, perhaps fight a “pressure fighter” “swarmer” type of style, maybe borrow from the Randy Couture book of wall and stall and dirty boxing, make it ugly.

Israel will have the MONUMENTAL TASK of keeping Jon off of him, and Jon has never even been knocked DOWN that I can recall 26 fights into his career, never KOed, never in much trouble, and Jon will conceivably have a 30+ pound weight advantage.
But Izzy IS FASTER; far more graceful and as you put, the better dancer, much much better footwork.

dream fight.

Izzy treated Romero like he carried cyanide in his hands, you don't think Izzy will be staying on the outside and leg kicking his way to a decision by any means necessary?
I swear, people have the most ridiculous analysis of that fight. Yoel was losing the fight and took zero risks. If anything Izzy showed he has good fight IQ and doesn't take unnecessary risks when he is ahead in the scorecards

The closer this fight gets, the more I'm starting to think Israel finishes Jan in the first round. Jan's striking is WAY too basic for Israel. He'll land something, probably a head kick and finish Jan in the first.
The fight only got annoying a few days ago so

Jones is technically amazing, but he is starting to lose his pace and he his struggling with pacey guys like Reyes. He also struggled with technical strikers with long reach before. I would say Jones is slighly favourite against Izzy, but it's close. I could see Izzy taking that one (and I also prefer him to win)

Announced? Yeah but we kinda knew it was happening for weeks now right? I'm pretty sure Dana said that was the fight they were trying to make. And in any case, I just can't see how Jan can win. Yes he has a lot of power, but he'll never land. His striking is way too basic.
