I've never been punched in the face

Really?, wow....the first time I got punched in the face, I was like 5. (by my older brother)

id say out of 10 punches i take 9 of them off my forhead because i tuck my chin well, but every now and then i take one square and the same thing goes threw my mind. "i shouldnt try that again"

Very rarely does one land completely flush, but some people are saying they don't notice when they get truly rocked and I'm calling bullshit. You may not really feel it, but one would hope a warning should be going off somewhere to not let that happen again. To hell with the face if you want pain let someone punch you in the liver or even worse land a body kick there. That was truly the crappiest of all feelings when that happened to me the first time and if it hasn't happened to anyone yet well it's an experience.

First time getting punched hard in the face sparring wasn't that terrible, kinda like the feeling you have coming out of those gravitron rides in the amusement park (the one where you stick to the wall), your a little dizzy and confused then it passes. Next day is a bitch!

I would actually rather take a good shot in the face (with headgear) than a real solid leg kick to the thigh or ribs, floating rib shots or liver shots are the worst, instantly painfull.

A drill that I did once was to use a heavy bag behind me so I couldn't escape/back away and a person was just throwing combos. You'll learn really fast what defensive techniques work and don't work and you'll eat some leather along the way too.

To really practice what it feels like to be clocked, spin around and around as fast as you can and then do shadow-boxing... lotsa fighters use that training method to simulate the post-hit vertigo.

I've done the same thing, but in the corner of the ring.

Whoever mentioned liver-shots, oh, yeah. I'd rather get hit in the head.

When I get hit in the head I don't feel pain. It just makes me feel confused. The harder the punch is the more confused I feel :icon_chee

Well-landed liver shot is a different thing though. That most definitely makes me feel pain.

I don't much like getting hit, so when I train MMA and I'm being GnP'd, it convinces me that I had better work to get out from under my opponent.

I donno, I've never been phased by a shot to the head. You kinda feel it for a second but its not a big deal except for a headache the next day.

I've taken two liver shots in one match before. Now that shit made me pay attention. I learned real quick to do everything I can to avoid those.

a fewmonths ago i got head gear so i sparred against a couple friends.
Well then about a couple months ago i started trainin so now if i go against a friend i let them use head gear and i won't and well when u get hit try standing up.
Usually i just spar boxing so when i get clocked i just try staying up and getting away from them even if im basically out. And just standing. Im a ground fighter so i mean i want it on the ground but if u r boxing i say if u get clocked try staying away from them till u can get time 2 recover

I am wanting to experience it at least once though so I can prepare myself for multiple blows to the head/face/chin should I ever train in any kind of striking.

What was the feeling you got the first time you were truly clocked?

I volunteer my services, where you at?

everytime i get hit in the nose... its like a waterfall of blood but only out of the left side the right side dosent bleed ever and this can be a tap or a haymaker...

what can i do other then not get punched because its going to happen sooner or later

any ideas?

I have had mine cartarized, hurt like a bitch but it helped a lot.

Today My friend and i decide to try boxing each other... at first we were fooling around and it got serious lol.. Cause I threw 2 jabs to his nose and he got angry and i lower my arms and he threw a haymaker at me. i had a headache right after but we still went at it.. it hurt second time he tried that I ducked lol.

I don't remember the first time I got clocked good, but it seems like it is just a little fuzzy and confusing now. The pain comes later when it is sore. I guess I take that back, a shot straight to the nose is a little bit of a bitch, but I can usually shake it off when I taste the blood.haha.

don't do this shit. Fight only supervised or when you know what to do...

What are you 10? Fight only when supervised? My friends and I grew up boxing with headgears and gloves and we all had great times.

It's not a great feeling. Nothing worse than the feeling of your own noggin rattling. Never want to feel it again:icon_sad:
