Even if Disney gets these properties back the main cast will all be gone or a bit old for another 10 years. Evans, Ruffalo, RDJ, etc etc don't want to do this for another 10 years.

That would be a colossal acquisition that would give them control over the X-men, Fantastic Four, Avatar, Planet of the Apes, and Die Hard franchises (among others). I don't like it. 21st Century Fox is doing just fine without Disney. I would rather see Disney purchase a franchise that needs to be fixed (like the DC EU comic book films).

Yes, this means endless possibilities, but i'm not sure if there were any changes as to the Disney stance on the R-rated movies. Last i heard, Disney CEO said, and i'm paraphrasing here: "No way, Jose". Meaning this amazing Wolverine vs Hulk movie we dream of is out of the question.

I know, i know, R-rated movies are not a guarantee of a great movie, but it shows (IMO) the tendency for the corporate heads to release some of the control in things they know nothing of. Logan and Deadpool are signs that it can be done, not for the sake of NSFW language and gore, but for the sake of staying true to the creative vision by the writers and the director.

And yes, Captain America TWS, GotG, Homecoming and Thor Ragnarok were not R-rated and were (arguably) good to great movies.

But still, in the end, it's Disney who calls the most important shots. Not Feige, not the writers, not the directors.

Maybe they’ll release the grittier films under the fox banner.

The problem with the Xmen movies is that they aren't Xmen movies. They are Xmen flavored. They have the characters, but they are light ass versions of them and the stories.
There's a reason why it was such a popular and long running comic. It is pretty maddening to wrap my brain around how FOX has made the Xmen so goddamn lame. I love Wolverine, but all of the Xmen movies have practically been about him. There's a shit ton of other interesting characters that either got no real screen time, or just got some cheesy lipservice.
Xmen would be infinitely better under Marvel.

I think Marvel will have more of an opportunity to branch out and do different stuff when they have their full deck of cards.
Theyve been making movies with their B team characters. And all of the movies haven't been the same. I'd say the 2nd Captain America movie, Antman, and the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie had different tones and feels from their other stuff.
After they have built the Marvel "world" on film, i think they'll be more likely to do new stuff. All of these movies right now have been leading up to a specific event. (The Infinity war)

Marvel surely has seen the success of movies like Deadpool and Logan. They also have made some more adult content with their Netflix shows like Daredevil and the upcoming Punisher. So therye not against doing different stuff
Either way, it's not like FOX has done anything good with the Xmen or F4. At WORST giving it to Marvel would be a lateral move
