It's October... Halloween/Horror Movies

That's Howling 6, The Freaks - I watched it a couple months back it's still the best of the sequels for me

Odd little movie but still enjoyable after all this time

Damn how many Howling movies did they make?! I need to watch through them all sometime I remember we used to rent the fuck out of them when I was a kid, haven't seen any of them in fucking forever.

I've never seen or heard of Wolfen but that poster is fucking sweet.

All great choices, The Changeling is one of my all time favorites, and Burnt Offerings is a pretty cool haunted/possessed house type of movie.
Karen Black is awesome in it

Cujo I've not see for a few years but I picked up the awesome Eureka Blu Ray release earlier this year, looking forward to checking it out again

Tenebre is awesome as well, some of those Argento movies are so peaceable considering their content.
It's one of those movies you know people will genuinely enjoy. The movie turned out really well and this is coming from someone who has read the book and did their homework.

Since when do people consider Get Out a lesser known movie? Much less a Halloween movie.

And I know some of them arent "lesser knowns" I havent seen all of them, and a few I wanted to rewatch. If anyones got some good ones to add, let me know.

While historically interesting, I have no interest in watching movies from the 60's or older.

The acting style is kind of absurd. And by "kind of", I mean, actors back then seem like they're programmed to spit out words and emotion. Fucking robotic.

trick r treat is easily my favorite halloween themed movie.

also, i agree a movie that has 400k+ votes on imdb in the span of 2 years does not qualify for 'lesser known'

Ya that's why I put them by year, theres a few good ones but I'm not always in the mood for an old ass movie.

Good stuff, I can personally recommend 1978 Body Snatchers, 1973 Wicker Man, and Henry from your list.

And Demons is a fun watch and surprisingly effective for its bad dubbing and budget.

I prefer Creepshow 2 to Creepshow 1.

Ah Near Dark... The movie where Michael Biehn turned down the vampire role and cost himself parts in Point Break, Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker.

Excellent choices. I'm impressed, bro. You really know your stuff.

Well, I prefer Creepshow 2 to Creepshow 1. Might as well watch them back to back, that's if you like the first one.

And if you like Demons, watch Demons 2.

What else is lesser known these days...

Silver Bullet is good.
Flatliners and The Lost Boys.

Hmmm you know what movies are cool?

The Houses October Built 1 and 2.

They're both "found footage" but most of the footage is real. Obviously some footage is fake and/or scripted for the plot, but a lot of the footage is real and most of the interviews with locals are real as well.

Fucking terrific and probably my favorite two found footage movies ever.

Here's a small list of a few favorites that I didn't see on your's:

- CHILDREN SHOULDN'T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS ( 1972 )
Director Bob Clark displays some of the raw skill that would soon produce an all-time classic in 1974's BLACK
CHRISTMAS. It's a bit slow in the beginning but picks up quickly.

- DEAD OF NIGHT ( aka DEATH DREAM ) ( 1974 )
Clark's warm-up for BLACK CHRISTMAS which he directed later that same year.
Very bleak but effective take on "The Monkey's Paw".

- PHENOMENA ( 1985 )
My favorite Dario Argento film. This one has a little bit of everything. A girl with psychic powers, a disfigured serial killer
& a pissed off chimp out for revenge.

- PRINCE OF DARKNESS ( 1987 )
My favorite John Carpenter film.

Fucking thank you. My wife loves all those old movies. Every time they’re on, I don’t want to watch them and she says “but it’s a classic”. It’s just a bunch of dudes in suits talking really fast.

I do like the Thin Man movies though. Those are great.

TIL We Need To Talk About Kevin is a Halloween horror movie :)

I heard about that but it's not on Netflix anymore :(

I will watch anything that comes with a streaming service as long as it's recommended by... well anybody.

But that one isnt on Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime. :(
