It kinda pisses me off how a guy like Bruce Lee gets more credit and recognition than real fighters

And how do you think Bruce would do if he "trained mma for 4 years"? It's obvious just by watching him move that he's a spectacular athlete. He would have mastered in 6 months what you took 4 years to learn.
Im a better athlete than you, get over it

The guy has fanboys on every corner, i see videos and comments on youtube by guys saying that bruce would dominate the ufc, he hits harder than a heavyweight and moves like a flyweight, i saw a comment with shit load of likes saying that bruce would beat michael jai white in a fight, yeah, you heard it right... A tiny Asian man that stood at 5ft6 150lbs soaking wet beating up a 6ft2 200+lbs jacked mulitple black belt life time martial artist. He also hits harder than Mike Tyson... Who are these individuals that spread this type of misinformation?

I dont get it, he has no proffesional fights on his record, in anything... And there is no footage of him fighting or competing against any pro or known fighter.

At least chuck norris has a karate record.

It seems its better to fake it till you make it than actually doing it for real.

Can someone explain it to me, what impresses you?
He's athletic, looks good in movies, has cool quotes, the one inch punch that has no tie in with actual fighting where your opponet doesnt stand there and let you hit him (in most cases) and oh dear, worst case scenario pushes you back slightly.

I look at him the same way i look Steven Seagal, at least Seagal taught Silva that front kick.

This might be the whiniest post of all time.

this isn't a new thing. Guys like Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, and Steven Seagal all get tons of street cred for being these incredibly dangerous guys. They'd all get destroyed in a cage against any top 15 guy in their respective weight classes.

Hell I remember when Rocky IV came out there was talk of having Dolph Lundren fight Mike Tyson... Tyson would have fucking murdered him.

TRIGgered!

Surprised there are as many Lee fans on here as there are

I fall somewhere in the middle of this conversation -- I respect the hell out of Bruce Lee for venturing out and spitting a lot of truth about fighting as it relates to martial arts. I also feel that he was incredibly gifted and a legit physical specimen with a ton of power and plenty of foresight.

However, I don't particularly take everything he says as the word of God. I don't view his blind praise so much as his fault as his followers though -- the same damn people who post that stupid video of him hitting ping pong balls with nun-chucks thinking that it's real footage. Some of the claims seem a bit outlandish at times as well too when referencing his physical ability/speed.

With that said, I reckon he had a mindset that would have done him well in MMA -- he trained hard and had an open mind. However, I'm not even sure if he'd have chosen to compete in MMA. For all we know, he could have continued to be just a good actor/choreographer a la Tony Jaa, Jet Li, or Jackie Chan (who is actually probably more of a stunt man than a martial artist).

Steven Seagull is seemingly more to blame himself for being the laughing stock of the MMA world, I'd argue, due to taking credit for which he was not responsible and making unsubstantiated claims. I'm not familiar with Bruce Lee doing as such (though perhaps he has and I'm just not aware).

Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme have legitimate martial arts credibility. they are actually dangerous people.

Its the truth tho, ehinny or not whinny, everything in the post is factual, no fighting record /thread
It's the truth that bruce lee,one of planet earth's most exceptional people ever...his fame triggers you because you cant pull his fights up on fight pass.

I can think of nothing more whiny.

You actually cant pull up his fights anywhere, you know why? Because he doesnt have any, he's about as real as steven segaul. How can you be claimed as one of the best to ever do it without having a single recorded pro or amature competative fight to your name, explain that shit cupcake, he was an actor, a good one at that, probably gave a lot of bullied nerds hope, but he wasnt a real fighter

Bruce Lee was almost as good as Jon Jones.

AT DOING DRUGS, AHAHAHAHAHAA

Cool, show me any proof that he has an actual fighting record or a real recorded fight vs a pro
He also destroyed a black belt Karate dude on a YMCA handball court. In 11 seconds. The mat was red. Former student Skip Ellsworth says he "could end any physical confrontation within three or four seconds."

Bruce Lee would destroy everyone at BW and FW standing up.

Your mom dropped her panties in 5 seconds, legend says i can get any chick to drop em in about 3-4 seconds, true story btw.

Point fighting in karate tournaments does not make you a cage fighter.

And a lot of Van Damme's so called fight credit has been manufactured.

Bruce Lee is the GOAT of dark ages MMA, discuss

so why did you even start a thread if you just want to /thread with your first premise regurgitated over and over again as answer to everyone here?
Did you just want everyone to applaud you for your shitty oppinion on what some people supposedly believe.

What seems to be the problem good sir?

He was a legit martial artist and started in some classic movies as well as a TV show, and he brought a lot of Chinese wisdom to people in the west that hadn't been exposed to it before. Then he died young.

How do you not understand his popularity? Why are you so mad about a guy who died 40 years ago?

I train mma, have been for 4 years and i dont understand it, what is your martial arts experiance and how do you get a real grasp of a guy without any fight footage?

It’s bullshit, these are the types of guys who will call you an asshole if you tell them dragons aren’t real.
