I was on the fence with part 1. This looks better. Chastain and McEvoy usually bring it.

Well, one thing they did give away from the old woman scene is that the old woman was already dead by the time Beverly showed up. Pennywise is talking to her through a reanimated corpse.

-The flies
-The complaint about the heat because the body is decomposing
-The way the limbs flail when she's running at Bev

Nah, in the book, it’s one of Pennywise’s forms, like the werewolf or mummy. One of Beverley’s fears as a child was the witch from Hansel and Gretel. The lady’s teeth slowly change colors and into fangs, her hair starts falling out, her skin rots, and she turns into the witch. After Beverley escapes, the house is all boarded up. No lady ever lived there. All of it is a ruse of Pennywise.

One time I really tried to read the book. I must have made it around half way through but I had to tap out. The book was so extremely descriptive about everything it became painful. I read chapters and chapters of backstory for a character that killed himself in a bathtub. I felt like that was way too much shit to read just to find out that he committed suicide.

I figured the book had it differently (I didn't remember the details of that scene) but this movie version seems different. The clues seem to be pointing more at her being a dead body rather than a witch.

I started the book before the remake came out & only made it a few chapters in. Might give it another shot but I can’t get over how long it is.

I dont remember this at all from the book. Odd.

The teaser nailed it. That's the Hansel and Grettle Candyhouse scene. It was kind of hokey in the 1990 version:

Still creeped me out though despite the fake looking mask.

I don't mind how long a book is at all. If I enjoy a book I am sad when it ends.

It may not be super clear in the movie that she’s a witch, but it still could be the same basically as the book. The lady has a German accent. Same as in the book, as Hansel and Gretel is a German fairytale. it shows the name on the door in the trailer. Remember, she thinks it says Marsh, then after the lady opens the door, she checks again, and it says Kersh. Then after she escapes, it’s all boarded up and actually says Marsh. And in the trailer, the lady asks Beverly about being daddy’s little girl. In the book, the witch says something like that and turns into her dad and talks about raping her. Beverly tells the clown something about the birds knowing it’s true name, the clown gets confused, and Beverly is able to escape.

While the Kersh scene is pretty similar to the book, I think they missed one of the most important aspects. What made this part of the book so fucking scary was it was unexpected. You’re reading along, thinking she’s just talking to this old lady, then all of a sudden you notice she has claws and holy fuck it’s Pennywise. You get as freaked out as Beverly does. In the trailer, the old lady is doing creepy shit from the very beginning, so there’s no surprise really. Could have been much better.

Can we not discuss the book here? These posts are spoilers for people who haven't read.

"Final" trailer. This is the 2nd one right?

I liked the first teaser better, honestly.

Still gonna see the fuck out of this.

Bad ass! If the movie itself can capture the atmosphere of that trailer ..it's going to be awesome.

Damn you nailed it.

Dude you really should do this for a profession you are a monster at this casting game.
Thank you, sir. I shall immediately send my resume to WB-DC Films (Marvel Studios don't need my help).

I concur with what the other dude said but make sure you send along with your resume that it was sherdog posters who said they need to hire you .

Our reputation precedes us!

Didn't read or hear anything about this until the trailer showed up. Awesome that Bill Hader is in it. He deserves more roles on the big screen. The guy is talented.

That trailer/ CGI Pennywise looks like shit. Can't believe nobody is calling that out. I can already tell this movie isn't going to be as good as the first regardless of cast. CGI on Penny looks so dumb and ugly.
