It’s insane to me that Colby Covington is an underdog to Buckley

Buckley was outgrappled at MW, and he never should have been at that weight in the first place. He was a welterweight, but he had to come into the UFC at MW because he knew the WW division had James Krause in it.

Ever since Krause was out, Buckley has come down to WW and started showing people what he's capable of.

lmao Colby is a bum and never beat anyone elite who's not old and over the hill. Literally lost to every good fighter he's fought. Well, he only fought 2, Leon and Usman

hey guys im temporarily blind i was a bit too excited and passed out
can someone ask OP to tell me directly what the heading for this thread was and what was he thinking when
making it.... im having trouble reading...
... im in no way shape or form trying to rub it in or be funny. i wanna be helpful... OP please respond
before the actual bout begins... so what was the question you wanted to know ?

It's always the dudes who aren't even putting any money on it thinking they know what the lines really should be lol.

Anyone who took 5-10 mins to analyze the matchup & their recent fights should've known that Buckley was the rightful favorite.

Colby's last 3 wins were all over older washed guys and that dates back 5+ years.

Yes it can, he can beg trump for a cabinet position. Trump seems to give any moron a position as long as their loyal to him.
True, at this point I'm expecting Trump to give the McDonald's cook who put extra salt on his fries a spot in his cabinet lmao.

Didn't age too well. Buckley might not be an elite fighter but Colby isn't one either. I didn't expect such a one sided fight (or anywhere near it) but I did think Buckley would win. I don't think the pre-fight odds were objectionable.

Buckley has some very dangerous attributes, interesting to see how far he can go at 170. Colby was elite a few years ago, but his last two performances were very bad. Wonder if he's in for a Woodley-esque finish to his UFC-career?

LOL Buckley mopped the floor with Colbie

Colby's style was always that of a wrestling swarmer.
He relied on stamina, initiative, aggression, grittiness. It wasn't the prettiest. But it overwhelmed his opponent's defences.
He seems to have lost those attributes. Which for Colby is critical.
The way he was inactive against Edwards (likewise an extremely inactive fighter) is just a super big red flag.

Colby media whored his way into a situation that had him either fighting huge names or fighting for the belt. Since he flipped the troll switch (RDA), it's been:

Lawler
Usman (for the title)
Woodley
Usman (for the title)
Masvidal
Edwards (for the title)

So here, against a relatively low-profile opponent, his motivation to get his face punched must have been at an all-time low. That is the feeling I got watching him in the buildup. I mean, he's playing a character and all, but you can still see about 10% of the real Colby under the mask. A guy who fights on hustle and grit not feeling like he wants to get out of bed is not a recipe for success.
