He’s still the GOAT
Cycling two different stacks? Call me impressed.he's cycling, i mean bicycling.
Right. That's why he left LHW, he didn't want to jeopardize his record there. If he wins HW, that's great for him and his legacy but he has to balance that with the possibility of losing. Jon Jones hates to lose. He's the most cautious fight taker in UFC. He wouldn't fight mw Chael Sonnen who was given short notice and hadn't even trained for the fight. He might take a fight with Stipe, maybe, but only because he's old and slow, but he won't take a fight with any other top hw because the odds of losing are too high for him. His ego just couldn't take that kind of loss to end his career, it would haunt him every day.So he left his title, then spent 2 years bulking and you guys think Jones is scared? It's a win-win for a HW fight. His LHW legacy is sealed. He can only gain from winning at HW.
It’s quite obvious Jones has no intention of actually fighting in the Heavyweight Division. He’s just trolling everyone in hopes to keep his name relevant.
It’s time to stop discussing him on Sherdog in any way other than as a retired fighter.
Therefore, Jones was a good Light Heavyweight fighter but is now retired. However, he never really had a realistic chance at being UFC Heavyweight Champion with his extremely ectomorphic body frame. He knew this and that’s why he never fought in the UFC Heavyweight Division.
Exactly and he chose a ripe time to breakthrough to HW. No one knows wtf Ngannou will look like after his knee injury, he didn't even look like himself against Gane. Then there is the possibility of an aging Stipe who is about retired that went war with DC and lost to Ngannou. He knows he just has 1 or 2 HW fights at most, and is coming in bulked and ready rather than hopping in right after leaving LHW. If he comes in and wrestles Ngannou after his knee injury than he's going to look brilliant. Jones is looking for a GSP like moment to hop in and out.Right. He's waiting to cherry pick a weak champ like GSP did.
Beat him a 3rd time? Why didn't he beat Cormier again at HW? If GSP had seen a MW champion he had already beaten twice, he wouldn't have had to wait for Bisping.
Hell yeah!If he was serious about fighting at HW he would simply sign whomever the UFC decides. This entitled BS about waiting for the title to play out reeks of either arrogant narcissism or simply fear to fight anyone at HW.
Beat him a 3rd time?
For what possible reason?
