It's ridiculous to believe that Israel did what they did without having the full green light from Trump. This was carefully planned weeks in advance. There is a detail I'm not sure many have caught: last week USA pulled defensive systems that were supposed to be sent to Ukraine (and were paid for with cash money, not aid), suitable for fighting Shaheed drones. Hegseth said they are being sent "somewhere in the Middle East". That was probably Israel in preparation for the inevitable swarm of Shaheeds that was going Israel's way after the planned attack.

There is no way to make Trump look good here. Either he planned this attack with Israel and started another war (even though he was supposed to be a peacekeeper) or he is so weak of a president that Israel does what it wants and Trump has to follow them like an obedient puppy.

Clearly Russia/China sides with Iran. Israel is the only western loving nation in the middle east, it has some of the best intelligence capable, and we (uk, france, us) have a parental need to protect them because we essentially created them after WW2.

It may be a sunk cost fallacy, but they've more than proven themselves when it comes to espionage and nazi hunting. We'd like to keep that, regardless of the "bad kid syndrome" that were dealing with now.

The efficiency, organization, and sophistication of Israeli intel is the envy of the world, the absolute best. There's a very steep drop-off beyond it, though. The IDF is damn solid (and above average) but not an equivalent where sheer quality is concerned.
