I've said for a long time that we should just fence off the entire Middle East and let them kill each other until they're happy.
Just make sure there's lots of cameras running so we can all gamble and cheer on our favourite country as if they're sports teams.

Iran is practically worthless to China. The shipping lanes that Iran controls like the Straight of Hormuz are several dozens times more valuable to China than Iran's import spending on Chinese goods ($15bn/yr) or raw resource exports, and Iran has been an unreliable custodian of headache-free shipping. They're not even half of 1% of China's export economy.

China isn't risking even the most minimal level of conflict with powers like the USA over Iran.
