And don't get it twisted @Gutter Chris, I'm not pro-iran either. They're run by backwards, regressive islamist shitheads who also support terrorists. Israel and Iran deserve each other, and the Saudis too.

I've said for a long time that we should just fence off the entire Middle East and let them kill each other until they're happy.
Just make sure there's lots of cameras running so we can all gamble and cheer on our favourite country as if they're sports teams.

Its wild that Iran was like "what, you want to modernise our country with like technology and shit like the hoover dam? Nah how about sharia law instead" and BTFO the shah and now here we are

"OH no, women going outside without a ninja costume!"

China has entered the game.

...not on the Israeli side. And idiots in here thinking China does not support Iran. Did you not post something in here a few pages back about a Chinese cargo plane landing in Iran?

So it has 60 % enriched uranium, but it doesn't have 90 % enriched uranium, and there's no evidence of a nuclear weapon in the very immediate future.

Thanks for clarifying.

I'm actually glad we're on the same page for once.

They've been 6 months from a nuclear bomb for 20+ years now

Lol at people thinking they know what's going on in Iran's nuclear program

So what's the latest on this and where is a good place to read updates?

I've always thought that Pakistan and India should play a 5 test match series in cricket and the winner gets Kashmir, now that would be epic.

Literally wtf? It's in the damn post you quoted!

I know but I got a yellow for one month because I said the Z-i-o word. It's "against the rules of the forum" since recently.

I said as you said, there are literal political parties in israel called like that. But to no aval.

They indeed showed us they don't control the media by not allowing them to mention them in the media. 4D CHESS move. Or not ?

Ummm... it was the cia and m16 that overthrew their democratically elected guy in 53. Which in turn led to them backing a nutter which began the decline to this, which also caused a lot of anti western sentiment.. and now we are here.

Its hilariously not the only country this happened to.. nor even unique sadly. Theres quite the list

  • 1951, Mosaddegh nationalized Iran's oil industry, a move that threatened British oil interests.
  • This nationalization led to tensions with the UK and the US, who saw Mosaddegh's actions as a threat to their influence in the region.
The Coup:
  • The CIA and SIS (MI6) collaborated on Operation Ajax, a plan to overthrow Mosaddegh.

  • The operation involved:
    • Propaganda campaigns to undermine Mosaddegh's reputation.

    • Instigating protests and unrest within Iran.

    • Arranging for the Shah to appoint a new prime minister, General Zahedi, who was aligned with the West.
  • The coup was successful, and Mosaddegh was removed from power.
Consequences:
  • The Shah's regime, supported by the US and UK, was strengthened.

  • The Shah's rule became increasingly authoritarian, with the suppression of political dissent.

  • The coup contributed to growing resentment towards the US and the Shah, ultimately playing a role in the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

  • The CIA has since acknowledged that the coup was undemocratic

It blows my mind that people don't know this and act like it's inconsequential to how Iran is today.

Iran is practically worthless to China. The shipping lanes that Iran controls like the Straight of Hormuz are several dozens times more valuable to China than Iran's import spending on Chinese goods ($15bn/yr) or raw resource exports, and Iran has been an unreliable custodian of headache-free shipping. They're not even half of 1% of China's export economy.

China isn't risking even the most minimal level of conflict with powers like the USA over Iran.
