Iran landing missiles on Tel Aviv isn't good for them. It's bad for them. That's just going to play up sympathy for Israel with Trump, and embolden Israel.

No war has been won with strategic bombing. It just doesn't work. It didn't work on England/Germany in WW2, and it didn't work on Japan (nuclear bomb is different), and it isn't working on Ukraine right now.

The only dumber thing Iran could do at this point is attack US forces.

Oh for sure, Iran would be dumb to touch the US, but playing the game of just showing fake force after Israel directly attacks them again and again isn't going to work for them either.

Israel knows this. I'm not so sure they expected a serious response though, but they were also willing to gamble because if Iran launches a significant blow, they can use that to pressure the US into joining the conflict. I imagine both are fully locked in with each other and planning this already though, but I hope to be proven wrong by Trump. So far he's been feckless.

We know now that Trump was in on it all along.

This Day 2, man. Iran has hardly launched more than a handful of hypersonics. They're so fucking weak. Why did they start this war??

Because it's only day 2. Iran is in it for the long haul and planning its attacks accordingly, plus there's no need for wasting hypersonics on targets when they can just swarm them with a dozen of the cheap old missiles. Also, might be nice to have a bunch of nasty surprises saved up for when the US or UK gets involved.

Someone in this thread mentioned the Samson option. I had never heard of that but read up on it. It is entirely possible that Israel tells Trump they have no choice but to go nuclear if the US won't intervene. It worked with Nixon.

Absolutely. I'm more referring to Israel already feeling the heat and pleading for direct involvement when Iran hasn't even brought the pot to a boil. All of the hubris from the initial attack orchestrated predominantly by Mossad looks so fucking embarrassing already. They bit off way more than they can chew here.

The Chinese jets were cheap but they also had better missiles than what the Mirage 2000 was carrying. Get ahead in missile & drone tech, then making millions of them seems to be working pretty well against Western military gear.

In helping win the conflict, not actually doing it. It prevented Germany from scaling up industrial output but by and large didn't cripple it.

Also Dresden wasn't a significant strategic target, that's the entire point it's famous, because detractors said it was a civilian target.
