insurrection:
noun
noun:
insurrection; plural noun:
insurrections
a violent uprising against an authority or government.
Considering the well documented violence against federal LEO and the rhetoric spewed by the protesters, rioters and terrorists “insurrection” is a no brainer.
We had folks convicted of Seditious conspiracy, a federal crime involving an agreement between two or more people to disrupt or overthrow the government by force. It's defined in 18 U.S. Code § 2384
Now in regards to due process, ever single j6 protester, rioter, and terrorist was afforded due process. They were given the:
- Right to know the charges: They were informed of the specific crimes they were accused of committing.
- Right to counsel: They had the opportunity to be represented by a lawyer.
- Right to present a defense: They had the chance to present their own evidence and witnesses in court.
- Right to a trial: They could choose to have a trial, either before a judge or a jury.
- Proof beyond a reasonable doubt: The prosecution was required to prove the defendants' guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
- Right of appeal: They had the opportunity to appeal their convictions or sentences.
About the 4 years in jail: does that feel like the appropriate sentence for the nearly 200 terrorists accused, given a trial and found guilty of using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing serious bodily injury to an officer?
