So now that we know what the word means and what it’s used to describe we can look at January 6th and decide if it checks two required boxes;

Against an authority or government
Since j6 was violent (see: close to 200 convictions for assaulting officers with deadly weapons) and against the government (literally storming the capital building of our democraticly elected federal government to try and stop our vice president from certifying a free and fair election) I think we can both see how January 6th was an insurrection.
