Was there ever a ceasefire?

Not by Iran.
Iran is just warming up. They have up to 3,000 missiles in their arsenal and Israel has only destroyed a small part of that. This is going to go on for months. I don't know where this crazy ceasefire idea from Trump came from. North Korea has joined forces with Iran, and it will be supplying it with whatever it needs. Where did all that missing enriched U-235 from Iran go? It sure as shit did not get destroyed by the US airstrikes. Currently sitting in some hidden area that neither Israel nor the US can find.

cheeto benito lied to everybody again? shocking?
What exactly is the matter with Trump? The guy has gone nuts in the last 24 hours. Is he smoking something? Is he taking some medication with strong side effects?

??

That's old news from yesterday or two days ago. Am I missing something?

This is what I was talking about, @cottagecheesefan this forum seems to lag hours or even days before everyone else
I may have even seen it here last night, but it was on my screen from another site when I opened up my computer so I wasn't sure and wanted to make sure it was posted. I don't think SD lags at all btw, but sometimes we miss/ forget things when threads get very big very fast

If you are in the US military, you are not allowed to criticize the Secretary of Defense in a public forum. That goes for the President as well. Remember General McChrystal and his Rolling Stone article criticizing Obama?

While active-duty military members have some free speech rights, they face restrictions on criticizing high-ranking government officials. Article 88 of the UCMJ prohibits members from using "contemptuous words" against the President, Vice President, Congress, and other high-ranking officials.

You can do it. Just don't get caught!
You're right in a general sense. That is the standard as written but not as it is enforced. There are many proper and acceptable ways to publicly speak about politics including criticism of the SECDEF and POTUS. As long as those comments to not cause harm to the image of the DoD or present yourself in an insubordinate light its fine.

But there's a lot of gray area there. What you can get away with really depends on your rank and command

Why does this guy sound like the grocery store manager telling shoppers on the PA system the store is closing in 10 minutes and to check out by then 😂

He's such a goofball, lol.

🤪

I hope the parodies keep coming, though.

Palestinians would kill to live like Ukrainians have for the past 60 years.

Most importantly, Israel is about 15,000 times more responsible for the plight of Palestinians than Iran is for the plight of Ukrainians.

I know, terrorist organization like Hamas and other Iranian backed proxies prefer to use violence to advance their political and diplomatic objectives.

Something like up to 70% of all casualties in the Ukrainian conflict are from drones. That's not even counting the rest that are aided by drone surveillance or when drones are used to overwhelm missile defense systems. It's also not considering the thousands of ballistic and surface to air missiles Iran provided to Russia.

Trying to downplay the impact of foreign aid in a conflict like in Ukraine is really just showing an unreasonable bias. More Ukrainians have been killed in 3 years than in every Arab Israeli conflict since 1948.

Is that confirmed? I don’t mean like lol is that confirmed like a gotcha I mean genuinely do we know that for sure? I would agree that is meaningful.
Salami and his replacement got killed in the strikes.

So they might not be entirely repressentative of the Iran government their demise definitely impacts Irans military culture to maintain loyalty.

In dictatorship countries like Iran kin loyalty, tribalism, and cults of personality is what drives policy security and stability of the regime. If the new guy that would replace them does not have the same "cult" following it can seriously undermine Iran's future attempts to militarize more midterm.

Same thing the Taliban did when they killed Masoud.

He found Biden's power sleep meds!

What insanity.

Warmongering and literally proclaiming another country to be "greater" (whatever the fuck that even means) than the united states.

This coming from the administration that claims "no new wars" and "america first."

Next up is the rollout of the doublespeak.

"No new unnecessary wars."

"america first, after israel."

The last pillar of MAGA bullshit - rabid anti-immigration and border walls - is likewise going to have to be quietly reimagined as millions of legitimate refugees flee Iran from unnecessary violence and destruction.

Sadly pretty standard fare in almost every conflict...
Not really. If there is an actual agreement to a ceasefire then the parties stop at the decided time. If anyone breaks it the ceasefire is void.

The likely case is that Trump just made shit up again, like he constantly does. If he didn't there isn't a ceasefire anymore because it's broken.

He said 12 hours , not sure what’s hard to figure out about that

Pretty much every comflict inscreases activity as cease fire nears. The same shit happened on the temporary one with hamas when they had it.

Last chance to tidy up some loose ends and be pettty lol.

Yes if fire continues after the announced time its obviously not a ceasefire .. or its a failed one or trump lied of cpurse.

It appears iran fired before it came into play to be pricks and they now obey it.

But thats just from about a hour ago...

So far. seems to be good?

As the 2pm AEST deadline announced by Trump neared, confusion remained over the deal as missiles sped towards Israel from Iran.

It came after neither side publicly confirmed they had made an agreement for a pause or cessation of hostilities.

Iranian state media is now reporting a ceasefire is in effect, but Israeli officials are yet to publicly confirm a deal.

No, he said approximately 6 hours. But a report in a paper made it look like attacks were still going on now, but they stopped a couple of hours ago so that's what was off in my info.
