Iran is vital for China's energy security, they can't afford to have it fall and certainly not if the US is involved. They were the first ones to start pouring cargo planes into Iran after the initial strike and they haven't stopped. If there weren't any anti-ship missiles in the first planes there sure will be now, I'm betting they'll have whole systems plus the Chinese men to run them.

I think Xi will be making some phone calls to de-escalate the situation but if the shit hits the fan the missiles will be ready in Yemen and Iran. He's going to be his usual self and pretend he's doing his job as a responsible world leader in public, but behind the scenes he's going to be explaining things to Trump in harsh terms.

China doesn’t give a damn about Iran, but they would love for us to go to war with Iran. The more we commit to Iran the more realistic an invasion of Taiwan becomes.

I hope this administration is not stupid enough to waste a ton of munitions on Iran which really is not a direct threat.

Iran means a lot to the CCP because they’re a big supplier of cheap oil. A big chunk of belt and road is getting oil through land routes that won’t be blockaded the same way it can be through sea.

They also mean a lot in the sense that all the trashcanistan countries like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, etc care about each other. That is to say that they’re all dictatorships that oppose the US, and they don’t want to see any bad precedents being set like forced regime change.

No comment on how or what China is doing to support them, though.

I don't think anyone is disputing the amount of success Israel has had on their offensives with the Mossad ops, cruise missiles, and drones launched from within Iran's own interior. The question is whether or not it has been sufficiently proportional to the damage it has taken itself from Iran's barrage of missiles. And is it sustainable over any extended period of time? The answer appears to be a resounding NO, given that the initial euphoria barely lasted 12 hours, Israel formally requested direct US involvement within 48, and there are now a massive number of American military assets on the move towards the region within 96.

It's fascinating to watch. In MMA terms, Israel is a highly-skilled Middleweight, while Iran is a Heavyweight with less skill but more brute force.

Israel is landing more strikes and doing more damage. But Iran has landed a few heavy shots and, because of the size difference, can soak up more punishment. Israel's chin and gas tank are being tested.

It is a point of fact that is valid that is getting overlooked because of this nuclear weapons nonsense. It is flat out false to pretend Iran is just minding its own business though.

I dont disagree. I just think it’s really weird that both sides are arguing over the nuclear weapons pretext when we don’t need to go that far to find a good justification for bombing them.

I guess it’s possible I’m wrong and just don’t know what I’m talking about, or maybe it’s having grown up with the Iraq war, but the nuclear weapons thing smells of bullshit to me.

It's possible that the Zionists have had discussions about nuking Iran and only just decided to not, and that they think Iran could just decide to nuke Israel. Which wouldn't be a stretch.

But I think it might be about Greater Israel and that everything stems from that. Nukes are then relevent because Israel plans to colonise nearby countries with military alliance pacts with Iran.

All the people on Twitter saying this will fracture MAGA only hopped on the train once it was clear DeSantis was starting to tank, and that Trump would emerge as the candidate. Like Matt Walsh and those types. People like Jimmy Dore were not even on the right, let alone like Trump.
I don’t know Dave smith, but based on what he was saying, sounds like he was a democrat, or at least voted for Biden in 2020, and was hesitant to vote Trump in 2024, likely only decided to some point after the Biden debate and Harris became the candidate.

IMO the best option is for the US and all the other major powers to sit out for a few weeks and let Israel & Iran beat each other until they're happy, then check back and see if they've changed their minds about wanting peace. Let them get their mad out for a while, but with the understanding that if either of them uses a nuke they're getting erased by all the nuclear powers.

Nimitz is currently moving at about 10 knots, they'll be on scene in a bit under 2 weeks at this pace. That's my guess, but there's a good chance Trump gets itchy trigger fingers and starts the show early.
