It's quite arrogant to call out & hate on Dagestani fighters for talking a bit of trash here and there.
So everyone else is allowed to talk trash but Dagestani's aren't?
Come on mate, do better & stop being a hypocrite.
Don’t know how it is in NZ but in Australia pretty much 95% of Americans I’ve met get the impression every Australian hates their mates and themselves because of how we talk shit to each other and use self depreciating humour
This^
Robert didn't have the best gameplan the first time around. I still give give credit to Izzy, great performance and he probably still is Robert's nightmare matchup in the division.
The best way to win this fight is mixing it all together like you pointed out. Robert is probably the most well-rounded fighter at MW, hell probably one of the most well-rounded fighters in the UFC currently.
In their first fight, I think Robert wanted to prove he could KO Izzy. That lead to him head hunting, not even feinting a TD/attempting one, barely leg kicking and almost gassing himself out by chasing Izzy/throwing everything in his strikes.
The best Whittaker we've seen IMO was in his last fight against Gastelum, definitely his most well-rounded performance. His boxing, kicks, TD, combos, pacing, etc were all fantastic
He looked great against Cannonier too - even though the perception is that he got rocked near the end (which didn't even look too bad, looks like he had his legs fully under him, he just clinched cause it was the safe way to end the fight).
He's actually modified his style a bit. His defense looks much better these last couple fights and he's using a lot more in-and-out movement to land his combinations. The guy's still young in the game despite having some classic fights. People forget that Rob is a fair bit younger than Izzy and has a lot less experience.

By someone much bigger and stronger in a different weight class. Izzy has gotten stronger as his MMA career has progressed. Brunson isn’t holding him down or taking him down at will.
Incredible Khabib nuthugging around here.
I think it's pretty clear what the message is:
Imagine you are an heroin junkie and all around you everyone is shooting heroin too. But you have a friend that is straight edge, still hangs around but doesn't shoot heroin and looks over you with contempt "you don't need this". You shoot your heroin and admire your friend "Man I wish I was strong like khabib and didn't shoot heroin". Then a few years after you find Khabib drooling in a corner with a needle in his arm. You are still a fucking junkie but still you lose respect "yeah, you are not that cool now, huh?"
This is a dumb analogy, Khabib was always a heroin addict if you wanna equate the analogy to real life. He hasn’t changed, Eugene Bareman had an image of him that wasn’t reality. If you look at Khabib 5-6 years ago he always gave unvarnished interviews and talked openly about which fighters he thought were overrated and hyped up, but he was just another fighter back then and nobody cared. Now everyone blows everything he says way out of proportion. But he hasn’t changed at all, only the focus on him has gotten more intense.
Head coach of CKB, Eugene Bareman speaks to Submission Radio about the rumours of the Israel Adesanya vs. Robert Whittaker rematch being targeted for UFC 271 and why it may not happen on that date, why Bareman believes Derek Brunson might make sense first, Brad Riddell vs. Rafael Fiziev at UFC on ESPN: Font vs. Aldo, why Riddell has a better chance of getting a title shot than Islam Makhachev, Eugene losing a bit of respect for some of the Dagestani fighters in the way they market themselves, Dan Hooker moving down to featherweight and what happens with Alex Volkanovski if he's still champion, why Alex Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway 3 should be pushed for a stadium show in Australiasia, and more!
Eugene thinks that Brad 'the nobody' will get a title shot over Islam Makhashev.
Last month Adesanya was saying Hooker was gonna beat Islam because Dagestanis quit.
He seems very butt hurt about his fighters getting exposed.
He also talks shit about Robert.
