Agreed. It’s tougher than 170 to 185 in terms of being the true best in the world at the weight class. I think Khabib had the best chance; and even that wouldve been a tall order. If a top 170 lb strike implemented Gaethje’s game plan (lateral movement, distance management, and leg kicks) Khabib gets picked apart. If Khabib inexplicably decides to stand in front of his opponent (like that 3rd round against Conor) he gets TKO’d.

I don't know if the size difference will be that big. I think Islam is bigger and stronger than Colby. Islam is also better at closing the gap to get get a hold of Leon and work the grappling. Islam also won't be shooting for legs like Colby, Islam can use Leon's jab against him to get that Dagestani drag. I would love to see the fight happen.

Islam is a big lightweight. The multiple skill sets required to compete in mma is going to level the playing field a bit more than boxing. Islam is a much higher quality grappler than Leon for example. That alone could win him the fight. He is also faster, which will allow him to mix strikes in with his takedowns much easier.

After watching what Colby did to Leon towards the end of their fight, I would be confident wagering some good money on Islam to win that one.

Was anyone impressed by Leon on Saturday? I mean we know he is a good fighter but that fight sucked... maybe it's Colbys fault though

It was an impressive performance but people are not really impressed because the champ did champ shit(me included). He did what you would expect after watching him dominate Usman.

Sometimes the loser of a round connects with more strong punches to the face in 1 round than Colby did the entire fight. Leon didn't connect much either but clearly won the 1st three and was never in danger.

I put 250 bux on him and didn't sweat much.


Colby fought like a bitch, Leon would be stupid to open up and risk losing after what Colby said. The fight sucking is 100% on Colby. He personally insulted Leon making him fight an even more defensive style, then didn't do dog shit for 3.5 rounds while getting his leg smacked off and clearly losing on points.

Definitely Colby’s fault more. Had he shown up at least and gave the old college try the fight would’ve been much better. Instead he tried to kickbox a 6’2” non risk taking kickboxer.
