Can't blame Islam, he has fought Volk twice...more title fights vs 145ers than 155ers. Ilia should earn it with a number 1 contender bout and Arman vs Makh II gets rebooked. Now I hope we get Arman vs Poirier/Gaethje/Holloway/Pimblett.

Please explain why Ilia needs to earn a title fight if you're including Holloway as an existing LW contender

I assume by easier fight you mean Gaethje, which I’ve seen very little appetite for. I think the only time I’ve seen someone actually advocate for that fight they were only doing so because they know it would send Islam’s critics into an uproar. If you actually think “a lot” of Islam’s fans want to see that fight I don’t know what to tell you because that simply isn’t the case, and the majority of posts on this topic reflect that.

I mentioned Arman not being a viable option for Islams next defense, due to his relationship with Dana/UFC after his pullout.

he most Likely does. I have been cheering for Islam every fight (muslim bias) but ever since his fight against Ryan Hall I've been saying Topuria has the makings of a GOAT. That knockout of Ryan made me a life long Topuria fan and I can actually see him knocking out Islam in an exchange. Only issue for me is if Topuria has the Submission defense coz Islam has a thing where he gives you a transition to get up after a takedown but locks a front choke during it has has caught some fo the best submission artists with it. With that being said Topuria is insanely well rounded along with being the best boxer in UFC. I would say 60% Topuria wins by KO 40% change Islam catches him in a transition to get up on the feet after a takedown. Thiis is such a good high level and intriguing fight

It's a strange argument when both of those featherweights would beat any lightweight. The Volkanovski that fought Islam would have beat any lightweight bar Islam, past or present in that first fight.

Regardless I agree with your last sentence. If not Arman I’d prefer he fought Ilia but I’d also have no issue with Islam fighting the winner of Belal vs JDM, based on the precedent that’s been set he’s definitely deserving.

How is Holloway nowhere near a title shot after dominating and KOing #3 Justin at LW? Only Arman and arguably Charles should be ahead of him in title contention.

So please be specific about what particular event you are therefore using to deny his status as a top contender.

I wasn't being asked by anyone, me saying that was a completely unsolicitated response, if I didn't want to give islam the credit for the 2 great wins (that he doesn't have) then I'd have not given that unsolicitated response.

If islam did something like that, It'd be undeniable. everything else he'd done so far? Very easily deniable. Moicano a joke fight, Second volk fight a cherry pick, porier; not a deserving contender. his best win is still the first volk fight and the way the fight played out was far less than a convincing win.

Illa is a true generational talent, And armen is the best LW of this past 5 years outside of (or maybe including) Islam, which is why islam doesn't want to fight him (never said wont fight him, said he doesn't want to) If islam fought Volk, Then Gamrot, Then instead of waiting for all his contenders to be booked and fighting Porier, had he fought gaethje charles or armen at that time instead then even moicano (not his fault) I'd be giving him more credit than I currently give him.
