Media Islam explains why there are no American Champions in the UFC

Theres more opportunities to make a living in the US. Fighters from war stricken, poverty stricken countries have no Plan B's. They have no choice but to make it.
I think this is really the crux of it.

Conor McGregor was motivated when he was poor and struggling, but once he achieved his dreams, you could see he lost his fire and his career died with it. You gotta be willing to go all-in on MMA and die trying. I can see why MMA fighters say they wouldn't want their children to fight in MMA.

Sounds like a really fantastic place!
And then the MAGA morons go to Russia, thinking life will be better there, and they end up being mobilized, sent to the front lines, raped by the Russians, and killed. Great place.

They mastered the meta game of mma right now but I think the moment will pass. Fighting Nerds will take over.

Obviously a shit hole, but you pushed it too far. This some fantasy of yours?

Dunno about the whole family and republic thing. It takes two things for a country to get good at a sport: Culture and training facilities. Right now Caucasus is by far the most wrestling/MMA crazed part of the world and they have great coaches and facilities, so that's pretty much why they dominate.
Same reason Spain is great at soccer, China dominates ping pong and Canada is the GOAT hockey nation.
No country have better martial arts gyms than the US and the US have huge tradition in wrestling and boxing to

None of the current champions are from war torn countries lol or countries in extreme proverty. Two are from Australia and one from England countries with better quality life than the US lmao

Within the last 2 calendar years Jon Jones, Jamahal Hill, Sean Strickland, Belal Muhammad, Sean O'Malley, Raquel Pennington, Julianna Pena, and Kayla Harrison have all been (or are in the case of Harrison) champions. The US has had 73 champions, more than everyone else combined. The US has won TUF more times than the rest combined.

This is a false narrative or at the least it's too soon to say definitively. The more competition there is the less any one country will dominate. Having that many American champions since 2023 and claiming the whole of American MMA has completely eroded is the equivalent of "UFC is dying". It's all a cycle.
The US only have more champions in history because in the beggining of the UFC you had way more americans and much less foreigners. Since the sport became trully global american MMA Fell of hard

The US still the country with the biggest advantage in MMA. The UFC is a american promotion who held their events mostly in american soil and most of the UFC roster is made of americans and no country have more and better martial arts gyms than the US

It is a part of their lifestyle. They have fewer distractions and actually respect the art of grappling instead of it being a niche sport that is mostly just competed in by people who have family that did the same before them. The state of Pennsylvania is the closest thing we have to Dagestan in terms of wrestling being respected by the community, but even there we run into further distractions and greater cautions to protect children that while good for many, aren't really beneficial if the goal is it makes an elite fighter.

My kids are good wrestlers, good athletes, and have good discipline level for where we live. In Dagestan my kid would be considered lazy and not committed.

What else is there to do in Dagestan to get ahead in life besides become an MMA fighter?

They actually strive to become champion wrestlers first. Often the ones that don't make it in wrestling go into MMA.

Wrestling and combat sports are also a big part of their culture, not just of Dagestan but the entire Caucus region. Kind of like how football is ingrained into American culture.

Both Chechen's and Dagi's are basically treated like third class citizens within other regions of Russia, it's a completely different world over there.

Mindless entertainment, tiktok, porn, sexual degeneracy and gluttony all sedate the male - just as intended mind you, and it is why the western male is in such a poor state in modern times. Meanwhile in the Caucasus, masturbation is haram. When a lad is prohibited from masturbation and premarital sexual contact with girls, and has done nothing but eat grazed animals and grass fed dairy and worked and herded and trained his entire life, he tends to be very high testosterone and very aggressive and assertive. And yeah, lads like that have been a traditional target pool of recruitment for radical islamic factions; to be honest, most of history has been like that: young, excess males going to war. It goes all the way back to the Indo-European Koryos and even earlier than that. Young, high testosterone and aggressive lads needing an outlet for their energies less they direct said energies onto their own society itself.

Except in the modern west, modern lads don't even have that masculine energy because it is being sapped from them through nonstop shit food, pesticides, checmicals, tiktok and pornographic degeneracy, etc. It is a society wide sedation of the male and it has created entire generations of socially, mentally and practically physsically castrated males.
blue light dopamine destroying disruptiveness, attention spans totally fried, hardcore porn free, high potency marijuana legal, these are all the things i am subscribed to

regardless, Jones is without a doubt the greatest MMA talent to ever grace the octagon and many of the fighters from over there recognize him as the goat. jones probably gets more love from that region then he does over here tbh.

I personally disagree, as do many others. But it is objective so think whatever you wish, idrc.

my comment was in response to Islams comment about why there aren't any current American champions. He said it was because the UFC just started signing their guys as if their presence immediately put a halt to Americans winning gold in the ufc lol. Islam has been with the UFC over a decade, Chimaev since 2020, Ankalaev since 2018. these are guys who have been around for years and have seen many American champions in there time here.

I stated that in my opinion the reason why most of their guys probably weren't being signed before is because the UFC doesn't like to promote grapple heavy fighters who mainly win off decisions. the UFC is an entertainment business and holding a guy down for 25 minutes will never be that popular over here, especially if you are a stoic foreigner who can barely speak English with no ability to connect with the fans outside of Ali Aldeliziz tweeting something pretending to be you. i don't consider Islam, Chimaev, Umar, Khaabib to be boring at all but a lot of fighters from there aren't that fun to watch from a stylistic standpoint and would be hard to promote here.

Well it takes several years to earn a title shot in the current UFC landscape, so only taking 5 years for a region of 10 million people to take half the belts in the premier fighting organization in the world is actually pretty insane. Not really sure why you're trying to use as an argument against them.

179-12, i didnt think it would be that crazy actually. lmao

Uhh no. Americans will boo their own if they find you boring. I can list countless examples.

And didn't Islam just have one of his toughest fights vs a past his prime Porier? didn't Chimaev just struggle with Usman, who even though he represents Nigeria, has grown up in USA since he was 7 years old? didn't Bryce Mitchell just beat a Dagestani? Settle down bud. your favorite fighters are winning right now but things can and will change. its the nature of fighting

Favorite fighters? Since when? Can't really say I'm a fan of any of them really, I don't mind Ankalaev and I kinda liked Khabib for whooping on Conor, aside from that I don't really follow any of them. I've only seen Chimaev fight three times.

However, I do watch the UFC because I want to watch the best fighters in the world compete against each other. If I just wanted to see two retards club each other to death, I'd just watch Power Slap. It's actually really odd that people who watch MMA complain about the grappling. Boxing, kickboxing, power slap, sword fighting, all of these things already exist, just go watch them. But if you want to watch the best fighters in the world compete to decide who the best fighter is, then grapplers are going to win most of the time, as already proven by history. If you find that boring, then you're watching the wrong sport.
