-isis and sdf arrangement apparently upset some in u.s command
The deal allowed 70-100 isis fighters to leave taquba in exchange for them to dismantle ieds and other traps left behind

- assorted pro regime militas foriegn and even some domestic all being flown through manbij prepping for arrangement to assault deir el zour
Isis have apparently stepped up attacks there and palmyra in response

- regime gains areas in starvation settlements one in damscus one in darra

-trump to meet edrogan to next week to discuss issues
Hard to see how any leyway its obvious sdf has green light on raqqua op
Meanwhile turkish troops sit around and help train about 10k fsa groups

- u.s and sa set to conclude huge 100 bil weapons deal that many feel will inpact both syria and yemen.

-tow hero released from hts custody
But Hts have apparently had all relgious sermons this week geared towards the evils of the newly being formed eastern fsa force (est 20-30k strong if allowed to form) and their old rivals anhar al sham...prepping for more internal war while regime axis focus on deir it seems.

How? They never use their equipment properly, they never deploy anything outside of airstrikes, they're military organization is potato. They buy all this shit randomly to be cool an have the latest an the greatest, but dont know how to use it

lol youll be sitting and thinking for awhile trying to figure out which Muslim country can actually fight. i dont think i can name a single one

Iran, Syria, Iraq. Sure, they've had some really embarrassing affairs, but after all this is said and done they are going to come out of this completely battle hardened.

Chechens are muslim and are known to be good fighters. Hezbollah is also good at fighting. There is no greater teacher than experience.

Maybe politically.

100 billion buys influence. But i'm sceptical that Saudi even has that money to spend. They've been talking big game, but in reality their economy is completely oil dependent, and oil is below their break even.

Before the coup I read on a few sites that Turkey was supposed to have one of the best militaries in the world (I don't know how reliable these sites were since I don't know shit about military or war) but since they've gone into Syria they've seemingly been a laughing stock.

They still have trillions stashed. They have another 10 years, even where oil prices currently stand.

I honestly think the only 2 competent military forces in the ME, are Israel and Iran.

Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey are kind of paper tigers. Pakistan less so because they have nukes.

They can give older equipment away now plus more + better air to ground stuff will assist their yemen campaign
Plus 100bil of equipment even if used badly is still significant man.....quantity has a quality all of its own

Their elite troops are pretty good and most of their regulat guys train regularly with nato forces and reports are they arent half bad at all.
They did become a laughing stock in syria but thats more political than military ie edrogan was beautifuly fucked over by putin

IS slowly getting strangled in Mosul, most of the city liberated by Iraqi forces with IS controlling only small part of western Mosul.

Akhbar had 3 undercover people film in Idlib for 3 months.

So news(apart from trumps possibly killing some israeli agent )

-more sanctions announced by u.s treasury on syrian regime and linked entities/individuals

- us state dept announces since 2011 and 2015 regime has abducted at least 65k to 115k people, mass executions and killings and one of its main torture complexes sedyna has a large crematorium installed

- israeli minster says time to assasinate assad

Seems iran is altering its unhidden plan to build land corridor
Tweeets seem to back it up

-fantastic news
https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2...rupted-public-killing-staged-by-isis-says-mod
If they display times for this dont see why we dont do this more often.

-awkward meeting with edrogan and trump
Trumps says u.s will support cointer terrorism of isis and pkk (note not ypg)
Edrogan says pkk ypg etc can nevr be accepted
So seems.nothing was altered by meeting as expected the sdf is going to raqqua!
Will be long fight though as entire city now surrounded by trenches

Interesting piece here on turkeys most likely countermove ...take idib!

-2 pretty dark pieces from regime areas/perspectives
One about consript desserter who was frontline vs isis

Another about tartourus ..often portrayed as unouched by the war

Hama fighting seems to have settled down (calm before rebel infighting storm)
Fsa Inforgraphic (sorry couldnt cut pic out on its own properly) seems to show still plenty of pro regime militas there ready inch in if infighting weakens rebel lines.

Us special forc aiborne raid at abu kamal last night reported ....some isis leaders caught

The main point is that in Idlib HTS is the dominant faction and there is no denying that.
Its mixed id say
There was a good article about a year back about how anhar and hts/nursra were equal there with fsa linked groups distant third
People who like to smoke but were on hts side walked to moderate anhar side to light up..puff away and walk back!

Bottom line Hts is in a corner at the min , i posted an article there about the u.s merging more and more small fsa groups in central syria into one large one ..when thats done that and ahnar will prob tag team hts with western airpower helping.
Nursra hasnt helped itself by initaly trying to do the hama offensive alone either...its rep among other hts groups as extremist but competent leadership is now mud.

So
-ceasar bill pases first house ,vetoed last time by obama this time seems set to be put into force.

-isis launch large suprise offensive on regime taking towns in hama ,cutting off hama aleppo ground supply route and seizing checkpoints in homs (hopefuly regime has learned to not fill these with weapons )

- pro regime militas reportedly take areas from isis in east aleppo

US air strikes hit pro-regime militias near al Tanf along the Syrian-Jordanian border (everyone is racing to Deir ez Zor).

Second part nicely explains the lacking Russian ability to influence the militias and also the reason why they have sent in "military police" made up from mainly from forces gathered around Caucasus to areas where Russians operate.

"US partnered forces"

Moderate headchoppers as usual
