Many people have considered Volk the FW GOAT already, some still believe it's Aldo. I also did until this point, Volk's longevity at championship level is something else. Racking up these title wins is filling out his resume really nicely, with another win in the summer against Evloev/Murphy he'll likely be a lock for top 5 all time, in my opinion.

Clearly.

Was absolutely sparked by Ilia but GOAT is apparently the accumulation of achievements rather than simply how good a fighter was on a particular night.

Featherweight Conor and Ilia *feel* like they are much better than Volk but I guess they get disqualified from GOAT conversations because they didn't stick around long enough to build credit as a champion.

So yeah it feels weird but under that criteria, Volk probably is featherweight GOAT.

Not yet, he has a few more title defenses to win. Right now he is definitely 2nd goat at FW though.

Topuria slumped him dead to sleep.

Alex is one of the best fighters of his generation, and the best featherweight of his prime. You can't really compare guys outside of their best.

Styles make fights, that's why it's notable to build a resume against many top level fighters.
Conor vs Volk could go either way, and I wouldn't be confident picking Conor against a prime Holloway either.

It's either him or Aldo. Still slightly favor Aldo because he was undefeated for almost a decade and has more consecutive title defenses. But volk has a better resume so idk.

You can’t get slept like he did against Topuria and then get an endless supply of sympathy title shots against undeserving middle of the pack guys.

Diego was not a real contender either time. UFC just hates guys like Evloev and Aljo.
