Right which is why Aldo is the best of his generation, not of "all time" because its impossible to map it that way.

Aldo was on a 17 fight win streak and 25-1 when he got KO'd by Conor. He then continues to drag out his career with a losing 8-7 streak. Volk beat him via decision after Max TKO'd him twice. When fighters start to lose, they retire, or collect more losses.

Volk has an extremely impressive 26-4 career record, especially given his age. He was casually KO'd by Topuria with zero fuss. He can't be better than Topuria, who was an undefeated featherweight that smashed Volk's best career win in Max (and stopped him, which Volk could never do) then murdered Volk.

Volk was the best of the previous generation, then came Topuria. One day Topuria will be old. So goes MMA.
