Is Venom Page past his prime?

It's hard to say. He hasn't shown any visible decline. Also, it's his grappling that was his weakness, and had more time to work on it.

Usually, a striker like that at 38 I would say is but for him, I don't necessarily think so. I mean look at wonderboy, he is turning 42 this year and looked just fine in his last 30s.

I lean towards him not being out of his prime.
Oh man.. I think Wonderboy lost a step or two definitely. The wonderboy that tooled Hendricks all over the octagon would have not been knocked out by Buckley.

MVP is amazing. His striking is miles ahead of the competition so he has a lot of margin before others catch up to him. We are talking about the guy that made Paul Daley grapple lol.

That kind of guy will be dangerous for many years to come

But his prime is leaving, and he would have a been a spark plug had UFC got him a lot earlier

Why did he join the UFC so late? People used to say he wasn't any good and was just made to look good vs less than stellar opposition.

I think he proved to those people wrong.

But is he past his prime?
I used to be critical of him coming over. I thought he should have embraced the Can-Crusher image. But I realize that phase is really been there done that for him. Why crush cans forever? May as well make an appearance in the big leagues.

I don't expect him to do great in the UFC unless they cooperate with a fun fights agenda. Any signs as to whether the UFC will accommodate him in that?

It's like you're making this post 7 years ago. He's already in the UFC and has already had fights that seem fun on paper.

He had requested to stop fighting cans in Bellator a long time ago. His last few fights in Bellator were not against cans, certainly not guys way worse than Kevin Holland.

because if you come in late it comes in with the built in excuse "that I'm later in my career and just looking for fun fights" and or whatever they say.

Had he come into the UFC during his prime then got destroyed, there is no excuse.
Yeah but I dont think he had this plan to come in late and with an excuse.

It just worked out the way it did, and he made his money.

Im not a fan of his, but I doubt that he was thinking of excuses. Prize fighters got to go where they money is at and theres a benefit from being the big fish in a small pond, otherwise why would anyone stay there?

Now yes, but prob still had it at the age where MVP is at and after.

Yeah Paul Daley is funny, he tried to wrestle Misaki too. A bit of a hypocrite really, when someone wrestles him he acts like the guy slept with his wife, but when he does it, it's a fair game lol

They can still have some fun fights for him at 185 or 170. Izzy and Strickland might be due for a loss and it's a good fight to rebound off. MVP doesn't wrestle and both men prefer standing.

Oh yes.. Wonderboy at 37 was still in his prime if not still very close to it.

I think MVP runs through Shara Bullet. I think Magomedov is grossly overrated.

Yes, definitely, but not by a lot.
Please elaborate. Technically yes I suppose. Nothing Ive seen seems to point to this at all.

Still extremely mobile, still pretty much unhiittable, still quick with reflexes and speed. Still has his power of course since thats the last to go.

Even his chin seems the same. He's a nightmare for ANYONE in the division. He is a freak.

And Im not a MVP fan per se. I appreciate him though.
