Is Valentina Shevchenko the best Taekwondo fighter in the UFC?

No, she’s a chick. Maybe in women’s but that’s lower quality. She does nothing better than any male in the UFC. She’s not the best at anything if you include males.

She´s awesome, best woman fighter i have ever seen. In 135 she was facing much bigger oponents. Yet she was able to beat Holly holm who is 19 times boxing champion. Gave Amanda Nunes hard fights.

About the TWD thing, i disagree as the style she shows in the cage is Muay Thai stance. Kicks are very similar in many kicking arts. She does shows great Judo skills in her takedowns. Shes a Judo black belt i heard. Never seen (at least do´t remember) she going for a single leg or double leg , only using her hips, trips, and taking advantage of an unbalanced oponnent.

Depends what you mean by Taekwondo fighter I guess

Best fighter who uses Taekwondo? Because no

Best fighter with a background in taekwondo? Maybe, I suspect not though, but definitely the best female

Best fighter who uses kicks similar to those in taekwondo? Absolutely not

This, according to Wikipedia she left taekwondo at 12 to train Muay Thai. I don't think she competed at all in taekwondo as an adult. Several fighters started with taekwondo as a kid, but usually they quickly switched to other disciplines. Being a taekwondo black belt doesn't mean anything, you can be 16 and already have a degree or two.

She went for a single against Holly. Not her best take down attempt.

She is better than pettis with her technique and more crisp and alert and elusive, she has some of the best crispy striking technique she makes it look so pretty, like out of a movie she also has great movement, ring IQ, she is very talented when she retires she would make an amazing coach and will make many champions.
Her technique is not perfect. She doesn’t get enough power on her spinning attacks. She shot her spinning back kick too high, and her knee placement took away some of the power. Edson Barboza has better kicking technique. Only one doing spinning shit right. And siver. I haven’t really looked at Yair’s form enough.

Ironically enough Valentina showcases some of the weaknesses of sport martial arts like Taekwondo when she loses fights that go to decision. I mean specifically her willingness to point fight. She will just throw things to score. Sometimes not even fully pivot into kicks, it's a thing you see in tons of Taekwondo matches since it's all about scoring first and clean.

The kick she knocked out Eye with she through her WHOLE hips into. Literally jumped into the kick. That was a calculated move, she was going for the KO.

She's absolutely way more talented than the other girls in that weight class, I think it was a matter of her believing it and now she's killing these girls.

She's spent more time competing in kickboxing and muay thai than Taekwondo, she's also a judo black belt so labelling her a taekwondo fighter is misleading.

I know she's well rounded and that she knows everything (this is MMA and she's one of the best)

But she literally said in her signature series "My style is more than Muay Thai, It's Taekwondo. So you can see in my fights a lot o techniques that you can usually can see in Taekwondo"

Those were her own words, so that's why I put it.

Biology has nothing to do with skill or mastery of a technique. We're not saying she could beat any of these men, just that she executes the moves the best.

exactly! This is the key point -- we're not saying "she'd win a fight against a man at equivalent weight" (althought she might well...) the premise of this thread is simply talking about Taekwando technique. That's it.

THIS!

That's exactly the point of my thread!!!!
