Is UFC the Stingiest Sports League?

A league is in charge of promoting a sport and its teams...

Now call me crazy but that sounds an awful lot like what a promotion does...promote fights ( the sport of MMA) and its fighters (teams in other words)

Hence the name of PFL... Pro fighter League ...

Thanks for coming out...View attachment 822489 View attachment 822488
The league office represents the interests of the owners. Not the players.

Huh? That's probably how much the best nascar driver earns in a year from sponsors.. That shit is just a small community being passed down from generation to generation.. that only the lowest of IQs follow it.. I couldn't name you any nascar driver or whatever they call that shit these days.

The driver pictured brings an annual budget of €30,000,000 to race in Formula 1.

BTW your ignorant and elitist attitude is not a good look given where MMA sits in the sporting hierarchy.

What does have to do with anything...without players theres nothing to own...the owner is merely the patriarch of the team/players....in relation to MMA players are owners and players of the careers....there own team ...whatever promotion there in is just the same as any league...just loosly placed terms...interchangable

Like if UFC ..ultimate fighting championship is a " promotion"....then whats PFL ...Professional Fighter League...they produce the same identical sport...in the same owner to player setup....

Answer

There is no actual difference...the UFC is a league using they use "promotion" subtext to keep itself out of ridicule circles that would compare it to other leagues...also most leagues have unions something the UFC doesnt want for some odd reason...another reason to use the "promotion" subtext to further distance themselves from the league argument...

But in actuality its a league...

The league office represents the interests of the owners of the teams. The ufc office represents the owners of the ufc.

Players are NOT owners in mma. They are the talent.

PGA doesn’t call themselves a league. Tennis doesn’t call themselves a league.

PFL has 75 or so fighters, put on 10 shows a year. A typical season from may / June to October with a championship in dec. then start all over the next year. It’s a model that never succeeded in boxing, and can only succeed with a small closed system.

The ufc, and most of mma and boxing is perpetual. They don’t have a reset button. They aren’t like the leagues you want to compare them to. Not sure why you do.

I think most of the major sports leagues (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) give roughly half their revenue back to the players. UFC is around 20% I believe. But, it's quite a bit different with the team structure as opposed to the independent contractor structure used by the UFC. And, when you have 1 owner (WME) as opposed to 30 or more different owners in the other sports league, that's a major difference as well.

I love how you weirdos love to bring up IG for justifications for your elitism

Lmao okay, but I feel sorry for people like yourself that's addicted to watching golf, tennis, and nascar.. theres a reason why many, many ppl go to sleep regularly watching them.

WWE is neither a sport or a league..

Its performance art with athletic elements to tell a story through a series of episodes and live events

But it promotes itself and its "teams" (wrestlers), so by your definition it's a league.

UFC isn't really a sports league. The fighters are independent contractors

No...read carefully..i said it promotes a sports and teams...

WWE has no sport element therefore no league

Another word for teams is players....ufc fighters or mix martial artists are the players/teams of the sport MMA...MMA gyms are even referred to as Teams..like AKA...ATT

UFC is not a sport...its an MMA league..

MMA is the sport... The fighters are the players/teams that compete in the league UFC or PFL

UFC is not a sport...its an MMA league..

There's no hierarchical mandate that awards one of the participants for winning an annual tournament to determine the top team/player.

UFC is a promotion company that promotes random fights.

Those are still full fledge MMA fights...regardless of PFL set up the sport remains the same...MMA between the two

If PFL is a league so is the UFC..

UFC isnt a sport...and promotion is just an interchangeable word with league is my argument...there no distinguishing difference

That factually wrong.....

Championship fights, and rankings are the hierarchical mandate you speak of...

If the UFC was promoting random fights there would be no champions and guys would fight anyone...ranked 50 vs 1 ....

It is much easier to prove why UFC is a league then it is to prove its not...other then calling itself one and sharing profits like one ...it operates like one.....

If it walks like a duck...quacks like a duck ...then its a duck

There's no objective meritocracy to back up the meanings of the championship fights or the rankings.

Whether proven or not merit wise...there very existence speaks to it being a sport..and the fact there called UFC rankings and not MMA rankings further lends credit to UFC being a league...why track such a thing if your " just putting on fights".

Trust me ..we could go all day and night but. I promise u...the UFC hides behind the word promotion but league is the same thing...except they actually pay better and allow unions...two things ironically the UFC doesnt do..

Disagree. Now, if 'rankings' were 'standings' that were meted out via an objective schedule, you'd have an argument.
