Is UFC 311 a PPV blockbuster or just a special event for longtime fans?

Started looking through old cards and I can safely say this feels like the biggest card for me in the past 3-4 years. The top two fights are amazing. Is it fair to expect everyone else to feel the same way, or is this card just another PPV to the average fan?

The top P4P ranked fighter with a very legit chance of losing and the undefeated cousin of the potential GOAT fighting at his exact prime vs the human endurance cheat code Merab. It just doesn't get any better than this.
I'm really excited for UFC 311, it's a VERY good card, but you're not being honest to yourself by saying it feels like the biggest card in the past 3-4 years. UFC 300 was by far superior on paper for the hardcore fan.

Look at the two for comparison:

You got 3 guys in common to start off, Tsarukyan, Prochazka, Moicano. So at least UFC 300 matches that there.

But 300 has Pereira, who is on the same level as Makhachev P4P, except more popular and exciting. Then we have Holloway vs. Gaethje, who are two of the best action fighters for hardcore fans. Then add in Sterling, Kattar, Lopes, Kayla Harrison/Holm, Jalin Turner, Figueiredo/Garbrandt as the opening fight on the early prelims. Oh, and for old school hardcore fans like us, Jim fucking Miller. And super overhyped prospect Nickal too.

311's Guskov/Elekana, Talbott/Barcelos, Reese/Bekoev, Ulanbekov/Carpenter, Nakamura/Gafurov don't hold a candle to 300's prelims.

And of course, on the bottom, Rosa/Perez doesn't measure up to Andrade/Rodriguez (I mean, besides Ailin's bottom, which measures up just fine).

I'd say it's a blockbuster for hardcores. My only minor issue is either Beneil or Moicano will lose. Probably my 2 favorite LWs along with Charles.

If talking about the full night of fights 300 is better for sure. But strictly from if I can only watch 1 five fight PPV? I'll take 311 over 300. The irony is part of that reason is I thought Max would get squashed by Justin and the matchup didn't make sense to me. In hindsight it was awesome.

It is a very good card and this the level of a card as fans we should expect from the UFC for any PPV.

It’s blockbuster for hardcores but probably moderate in terms of how well it will sell. Casual appeal probably modest.

This won't be a huge-selling PPV, but definitely one of the most skilled PPVs. Probably the highest-level LW title fight of all time and highest-level BW title fight as well

Bro the early prelims could easily be the main card of an apex fight night these days

Looking forward to this shit

I'm more about the entertainment, so obviously these arent the most hyped title fights ever, but overall great main card.

Looking forward to that Jiri-Hill certified banger.

Ah yeah, if just the main card... it's definitely close and I can concede that 311 main card is better than 300. But, as hardcore fans, we love to deep dive on the prelims unlike the casuals who only care about the main card right? :)

I'd have to agree, I bet money on Gaethje and lost badly. I thought it would be a fun all action fight dominated by Justin. Oops.

I am more excited for this then 300 personally. When I saw hill weigh in look like a fat dad i knew where that fight was going.

It is a good card, but Jiri - Hill is my most anticipated fight, despite the top two fights being infinitely more important.

casuals wont care about this card So in a way, it's no different than last weekends card.

Must have been the first hill weighin you've seen

Yeah well 300 had bo nickals on the main card which tarnishes it greatly.
