Is Tony Bi-polar?

Bipolar and manic depression don't cause extreme delusions and hallucinations or keep you up for days on end.

IMO he either has a serious Meth addiction or schizophrenia coupled with paranoid delusional psychosis.
Bipolar disorder can indeed cause delusions/hallucinations etc, both in a mania phase and in a severe depression phase. there's also shizoaffective disorder and other grey areas

You can't have schizoaffective disorder without a mood disorder but nobody here has ever minored in psychology. Does anyone have any clue what they're talking about?
Well yeah, but generally when someone has pneumonia you stop describing it as a chest cold.

I won't argue with you but I have had the unfortunate luck of seeming to be drawn to bi polar chicks and of all the craziness I've experienced from them I've never seen states of delusion, paranoia or staying up for days on end.

Maybe I just got lucky but I've also never heard of those things being symptoms of bi polar disorder in my admittedly somewhat brief study's on the subject.

So youre saying he has/ had something more severe than a manic episode? One manic episode over a lifetime is considered bi-polar 2. It's not that big a deal.. it usally means you're very high-functioning, intelligent, sensitive, and awesome at something as far as a mental illness diagnosis goes.

We saw real glimpses of this on TUF and in the privacy of their home his wife must still be terrified. I feel badly for her. Tony is bi-polar that's why he out works and out hearts everyone. He is/ was also manic. Not charisma Conor manic. Probably hallucinating, feeling higher than any drug any man has ever tried who doesn't have bi-polar disorder. His wife should have laced his shit with lithium salts, but he had not eaten for days maybe weeks. He felt like a God. And probably believed he was one. Hell, the skies probably opened up and he saw God. We've known he's a little crazy forever, well, he's bi-polar, and he may or may not have had his first manic episode. A variety of factors, probably numerous factors, may have triggered this. Is it ok? No. Should he be locked up if he put hands on a woman? Yes. He's a danger to society and without intervention he could be dead or in prison for virtually anything. Would one dose of Lithium return him to his normal semi-sanity? Yes. Was he chemically imbalanced and would win a court case based on insanity especially with the officer's account and be sent to off to some shitty jail/ hospital somewhere? Yes. Is putting hands on women fucking deplorable and he deserves time regardless? Yes. Does it annoy me that I sometimes write in the form of asking myself questions? Yes. But we need to understand, Tony's greatest strength has always been his "mental intangibles," it's also his greatest weakness. He was clinically, mentally insane when this happened. Let's have some sympathy for the man. He has not lived an easy life. He will never live an easy life, imo.

If true, should the UFC be allowed to put you in a cage with a madman????

Honestly? I'm not sure I'd want to fight Ernest Hemingway. His prose was overly simplistic and alcohol obsessed, but he was a Bad Motherfucker.

In extreme circumstances, a person may experience symptoms of psychosis, defined as a break from reality characterized by hallucinations, delusions, or paranoia.

In the Netherlands there's a guy with bipolar disorder who thought he was Ghandi to the point that he sold all his belongings, added Ghandi's initials into his passport, and wanted to go back to his motherland India. Then he wrote a book about it when he was feeling better, then got lots of media attention and got another manic period in which he thought he was God walking in his own creation.

Interesting, thanks.

Tony's case seems more like paranoid delusional psychosis or a serious Meth addiction though.

He's old enough that if he had bipolar disorder to this degree it most certainly would have presented itself by now.

My mom is stage 5 just like my dad she just stopped taking her fucking chemo YOU HAPPY ASSHOLE! Shit is fucking documented. Archive it then STFU.

Wish Nick Diaz was around to translate this post for me.

Agreed, but bipolar disorders can have a late onset, even in the fifties.

After reading junkie and now looking back at all this " abnormal behavior ", probably or something worse. This needs to be addressed before we read something tragic next.

As as Sherbro I'm certified to speak on many fields medical, the legal system and economics, psychology etc.Tony I think had a psychoitic break .It can be come from traumatic event some men experience a psychoitic break after their first child is born,or they enter their 30s. Or Tony could be bipolar sometimes it manifests later in life. On a personal note I was hospitalized for mental issues I was only in a mental ward for like a week and a half. But I take meds now and see a psychiatrist .

That's a pretty bold prediction in the title :)

I think it's best to wait and see what happened with Tony. Hopefully he can bounce back soon from whatever is going on.
