Is there a name for.... mount escape...

Damn, this thread really took off...

At any rate, it usually takes a solid blue belt or a purple belt to mount me...

That said, let me describe when I have hit this escape... A guy takes a mount, my first move is always bridge and roll (upa). If the guy catches himself, he's usually shifted higher onto my chest, then I'll bridge and roll the other way, looking for an elbow escape. Naturally, if a guy is posted above my head on the mat, the elbow escape is there, but if he's sitting up and has a lot of weight on my chest, i.e. his top isn't supported, I spring the legs up quickly before the guy has a chance to get established and pull him off.

It's not something that guys see coming, and it takes the right set up, but I've hit it quite a bit. The big advantage is that I set it up by bridging and rolling them hard to the front, so their reaction is to try to settle their hips back and posture up a bit. So they'e TRYING to move rearward, and my legs are pulling them rearward, I just let them get what they want... plus a little more...
