For the guys 35 years old or younger on here, do you guys still go to clubs?

I hear it's pretty dead nowadays.

What's the true story?

Anyone still go?

I'm not talking about bars or strip clubs, but the club scene itself.

In Singapore, it's pretty much dead. When I was 18 to 24, I go almost every weekend, on some weeks I go thrice. Clarke Quay was "entry-level", then we slowly spread out in radius to more wild areas like Mohamed Sultan.

Since the strict lockdown of Covid, clubs closed down and never reopened, like at all. A generation of 18yrs old didn't get the chance to club, they are in their early 20s now and since they never started, they don't even visit pubs.

I'm nearly 40 now, so we just gather in pubs with live band.

Yes in my 20s it was massive and rammed pack at the clubs. I'll be honest I went to couple clubs last year and it was pretty empty. Not much people at all.

I guess the young people these days have more options to entertain themselves besides going to clubs.

I live in LA and the club scene isn’t what it used to be. I still go out from time to time though if there’s a dope event happening. LA has turned into a house party scene > clubs. I go to parties in the Hills every other week but clubs pretty rarely. Just better all around to be honest.

Here’s a party my boys threw a little while back. I’m the guy earlier in the video with the LA hat on. House party scene here is a vibe.

On its last legs in the UK. But then again we’re turning into an Islamic country so it’s of no real surprise.

Interesting...

I was watching these Manchester/London nightlife videos and it looks alive based on the videos. But maybe there just walking around. lol

At least you guys have house parties. I visited a snooker room last week after dinner because it was nearby. I was shocked to see all the people there are in their mid 30s to 50s. 20+ years ago, more than half were teenagers like me starting out either with gf or bunch of guys hanging around.

I'm not even sure what youngsters in Singapore are doing for fun, in mass, now. It seems they just either stay home alone, or in groups of 2 ~ 3 and probably play online games or something.

We used to hang in groups of 5 ~ 15. I'm not sure if youngsters simply have less "people skill" because they lack the practice or what. Some of them seems to barely speak up irl. Or maybe I'm just at the age where I don't see where they are actually gathering?

EDIT:
Oh yeah, suddenly thought of something, I see plenty of 18 ~ 23 in the gym when I work out though. I guess that's encouraging.

Very interesting, thanks.

It's as good as dead when you get older and don't partake. But I'm sure there's plenty of clubbing going on that you're not privy to.

My impression is.

In my day it was pretty cheap so we went to bars and then to a club at the end of the night.

Then it got more expensive so kids had pre drinks at home and then went to the club afterwards.

Then it got even more expensive so the pre drinks at home just turned into a house party.

It seems dead to me because I never go to them. But I'm sure if I went down to the gaslamp quarter I could find ten of them. But I avoid that area like the plague if possible because I don't want to deal with all of the drunk assholes after midnight.

Usually the few times a year I go down there is to go to some fancy restaurant or kill a little time before a baseball game and I'm out of there by like 9.

It was the same thing in Wrigleyville when I was still living in Chicago.

I don't think it's that so much as when I was 18 you could do a night out for the price of a couple of drinks nowadays.

Aye true. And I think it’s just like everything in life, we have more options now. I was out for a leaving-do last night and all I could think about was how I’d rather be at home watching the LFA prelims for example.

I think the last one I went to was a Bangra club next to Mayfair circa 20 years ago.

Consider it every time I go to Vegas and just can't be bothered.
