Is Steven Seagal legit?

i saw him breaking enemies' arms/legs/necks with very short and precise movements in so many movies. he is legit without a doubt.

You obviously aren't a fighter. JCVD has a 19-1 record with 18 KNOCKOUTS.

And you call JCVD a thug, yet your idol....Seagal is a wife beater?
yeahhh seagal sucks but i wouldn't be too sure about JCVD's record. do you have any legit sources on that?

JCVD would head kick KO Steven. Round 1. Especially now that Seagull is slow and fat.

JCVD record might be BS but he is in way better shape and his kicks are great.

According to Stallone, Segal kept talking about how he could beat Jean Claude Van damme and wanted to fight him then ran away from him when JCVD actually challenged him. And that was when he was in shape.
Didn't van dammed get knocked out by his own bodyguard, does that mean he isn't legit too?

nah it's okay seagal is my guilty pleasure to watch. i would probably not give him any of my money though
it was a long time ago mate, I'm a lot tighter these days hahaha

I believe he was really drunk at the time. He did compete in regional kickboxing and karate matches but never fought in any major fights.

no compared to UFC fighters he is not. He doesn't claim to be as far as I know.

i think his record is a marketing stunt.

Why did he lie about his son meeting Bruce Lee? To troll UFC fans?

Is his straight to DVD movie career a way of trolling us too? :D

I suppose his spray-on wig is an elaborate troll job too huh? His hair is as authentic as his fighting ability.

Aikido is bullshit. It only works on submissive volunteers.

It depends what you class as legit, is he trained in self defence and would he wreck your average person who challenged him, certainly, is he a trained competitive fighter? No, that doesn't make him a fraud though.
He says he could beat trained competitive fighters. He also said he trained a guy who is arguably one of the best MMA fighters ever.

So yeah, he's a fraud.

What's wrong with you?

Shertards can bitch about him but great martial artists (including UFC champs) seriously respect his skill.

Sherdoggers should learn to appreciate that he is also a mster of masters at trolling.

He trolls you guys bad.

Plus he's legit.

Jokes on you Shertards twice over.

Here's Anderson respecting him

Edit: fuck it. For some annoying fuckin reason I can't copy a link from my phones browser and paste it in here. Anderson was making fun of Segal. Fuck annoying tech bullshit

Are you sure about that; because I've heard it was real just at low level.
it's not very important for me, i respect the guy's athleticism and drive to stay in shape. but i know people he used to train with, and he was definitely not high level. (i'd understand if you were skeptical about this but Belgium's a small country, and the karate 'scene' in the 70's-80's was even smaller)

that's not to knock him down or anything, but if he's gonna claim 18 knockouts i'd like to see some proof first.

I'm not going to research it either. I just saw a reporter years ago saying that there was proof that he did compete professionally. I don't remember if they said his record at all.

All joking aside, he is 6'-4", massive hands, grip strength, a master in odd locks and movement. He has great insight into exploiting natural movement and attacks. He would be brutal against non-fighters.

Aikido *does* have some useful locks (mostly wrist locks), but their applicability is relatively limited.

Certainly not a good use of training time.

I know basically nothing of lineage in Aikido but he strikes me as someone who is legit to a certain degree, but still exaggerates their credentials past the point they justify by rank, accomplishment, etc...

The Judo Gene story is always funny...I'm sure it's been mentioned already though.

Gene LeBell wasn't a pro fighter.
