Is Shogun rua the lhw goat without any asterisk?

Me too.

I think it would've been a great fight but lean Shogun is there's no injury coming in.

I think Shogun v Jones would've been more competitive sans injury too
It’s so hard to do this stuff with Shogun because he was so inconsistent and Rashad was a much better fighter at that time than I think a lot of people give him credit for. Would have depended a lot on what kind of shape Shogun was in and how the grappling went between them or if Rashad even used a wrestle-heavy approach.

He's actually got one of the dirtiest. Towel-gate and Stipe eye-gate that's two major incidents that resulted in him stealing titles. Plus he never beat Jones for the title.

If we're talking head to head matchup though yeah, I don't think Rua has much of a chance. But career wise it's not very close.

Wow DC never beat Jones so that automatically makes his legacy worse than Shoguns even though DC only lost to Jones and Stipe.

Shogun lost to guys like Forrrest and Sonnen.

Towl gate and Eye Poke gate

You = 🤡 gate

Jones is a cheater, eye-pokes, busted for peds etc. He is out of the conversation.

LHW is hard to tell GOAT actually.

Mark Coleman beat him fair and square in pride.

Neither popped for PEDs in pride either

We all know I'm the resident Shogun superfan. Unfortunately there is no version of prime Shogun that beats prime DC. DC is better at LHW and has the better career to boot overall.

I think it's naive to think DC was truly as clean as Shogun tho..

Didn't DC use eye-pokes in his career? You can't do that and be expected to be called great.

DCs overall career is better than Shoguns but Shoguns LHW career is better than DCs LHW career.
Nah, beating prime Gus and Rumble twice is better than anything Shogun did.

Would love to see prime Shogun vs. Poatan.

Nah, beating prime Gus and Rumble twice is better than anything Shogun did.

Maybe if you're a Jon Jones fanboy.

Peak Machida 2x
Peak Rampage
Peak Lil Nog
Peak Arona

Better than beating overrated Gus and frontrunner Rumble.
