Is Omalley a flop as a champion?

This is his biggest fight yet

he gets a highlight KO & he’ll be at least as popular as Usman was, probably more

We have a ppv tomorrow.

We have hardly seen any threads about this ppv on sherdog.

In fact we are seeing more threads about what ifs, 2010s, connor, pride memories.

Compare this to DDP vs izzy, where sherdog was pretty active. The sherdog activity with regards to this ppv is slightly better then a fight night.

The ppv is not that bad. We have 3 decent fights. This is the quietest I have seen this place be before a ppv.

So is this lack of interest on sherdog fall on Omalley? is Sherdog dying? Are we more wrapped up with the 2024 election ritual and spells unfolding.

He’s a blatant industry plant with a very manufactured run. It says a lot that the general casual audience doesn’t even care about this kid because they can smell the plastic from here.

The biggest tell is how much the UFC/WME is trying to shove down our throats That
“This kid is a star!”

Guess what? Real polarizing star power doesn’t need to remind everyone that they are a star.

Mighty Mouse was a flop but us Hardcore still tuned in to see greatness.

Card is pretty shit anyways let’s be honest
we have had worst.
but yes i guess it is unusually shit for a vegas card

301, 302, 303, 305 weren't great either but get a pass because it was izzy/ddp/poatan/jg/max etc

but yes this fight could have used one more decent fight.

Is this trash still going?

O'Malley is largely over as Champion.

He has a solid base, is about as well-spoken as a kid in his position can be, and has largely disproven anything about being a hype guy.

Tbh, those top 3 matches on tomorrow's card look fucking stellar.

You haven't seen any threads about this card sir?

his issue is that he plays both sides. he presents himself like a gen z progressive andrew garfield
2009 romcom nerd, then he got the whole funk basketball malibu's most wanted thing going on,
which is the total opposite of the majority mma community.

and yet when i watch their content

i see him and his coach tim
lean heavily right, making fun of biden. and hang out with dudes like andrew tate. so now he just alienated the audience
he looks like hes trying to appeal to..

i dont get it. im not rooting for him and i know guys opposite of me are rooting for him.
WHO IS HE FOR?

he should get rid of the rainbow hair, dump his girlfriend, stop swinging, buy some guns, get a new traditional cowboy
wife start reading the bible and do joe rogan stuff... that way the core mma fanbase can identify with him.
then he wont have to trash talk. and BAM you have a star....

i mean for god sakes this man has a tekashi69 tattoo... THATS A MAJOR RED FLAG...
like bro who gets a snitch inked on themselves.
why even get yourself in the targeted cross hairs of gangbangers.

Sherdog is not the real world

So far, yeah. And unless he changes his personality it ain't gunna get no better.

If he loses on Saturday he's staring down the barrell of a Bisping-esque championship reign to be sure

That’s because the important fights are not in the Sherdog-size divisions.

It's the best fight on the card and will say a lot about his TDD.

There doesn't seem to be much buzz about this ppv, and what little there is seems to be more about the venue than the fights. UFC as usual has done bare minimum of marketing. I'm sure ESPN will start running some ads during their college football coverage to try and drum up some buys.

Nah the UFC is.

Trying to make the Sphere + Mexican Independence Day card a thing meanwhile Canelo (also Mexican) is also boxing that night was dumb. He was always going to overshadow O’Malley, no matter how many gimmicks they tried to give him. My friends who don’t know anything about fighting know Sean’s fighting this weekend as the UFC’s succeeded at that in that people know he’s got a fight coming, but as soon as they hear Canelo’s also fighting they’re disinterested. He’s the way bigger star, especially when you factor in it’s Mexican Independence Day and they’ll watch him over UFC.

Send Jones, Pereira, or Conor against that if you really wanted to foolishly try to compete for the fight that night. Which you shouldn’t, but Sean was begging for it to be a fail. He’s their 2nd tier of stars while Canelo’s boxing’s 1st.
