Is lifting chalk the same as blackboard chalk?

Because I haven't been able to find chalk. And my grip starts to slip on the heavier sets. Due more to sweating than the weight. BUT I lliterally have access to all the free blackboard chalk I want (I'm a teacher) So my question is, will it do the same thing? Because I hate using gloves. This way I avoid the possible problem of chalk in the gym, if it turns out it won't do the trick.

Anyone have any input?

No the typical chalk used in black boards turn into pulp when it gets wet. It gets mushy and it's actually a bit slippery at times.

Lifting chalk is Magnesium carbonate.

Which is why I asked. I used to have to use it daily. And it didn't seem to have much as far as grip was concerned.

I bought a box of blackboard chalk for 2$ and it works great. Never turned to mud for me.
