I'm not trying to shit on Khamzat, on the contrary I think he is definitely the greatest pure wrestler in MMA history, but we honestly have had enough Octagon time from Khamzat to conclude that there is an unbelievably massive gap in his wrestling & other skills.

His closest competitor was Khabib & Khabib in my opinion had better striking, grappling & subs. His striking was purely designed towards taking down the opponent and was much more effective. He had great knees & vicious grout& pound.

DC had better striking than both Khamzat & Khabib.

Arman is a way better striker than Khamzat & and overall better MMA fighter.

Khamzat may well end up retiring undefeated though unless he is stupid enough to go back to 170 or fight Ankalaev at LHW.

Im all in on Khamzat but he's not exactly the next generation of a new age MMA fighter like Topuria & Makhachev even if he ends up having a better career than both of them purely because his wrestling is so much better than everyone at 185.

When he couldn't take down Ikram, he knocked him out. When he was scared of Gilbert's ground game, he won a striking match. He has submissions. You're exaggerating brutha.

I used to hear Mma favors wrestlers and now I 100% agree

That kind of style should not be allowed that is NOT fighting

UWC - Ultimate wrestling championship

Khazmat should be cut from the roster after that “performance” and our new paramount overlords will make it happen

Khamzat either looks really good or just ok. He finished Robert and almost got ko by Gilbert

Another thing I forgot to mention was that he had DDP in a crucifix 5 times but barely did any significant damage, that's insane to me
Yeah I can’t think of the last time I saw a crucifix that didn’t end in a TKO stoppage.

Yeh

Khabib could blanket people too, but it was never this dull, Khabib looked like he was trying to get people out of there with nasty GnP or subs

Dont remember anything this tedious with Khabib

Absolutely not, the man can fight standing and can grow more and more

Define striking, the few hundred baby taps laying on someone?

More like jabbing him in the face and kicking DDP with impunity.

Kham was daring DDP to counter with his patented goofy lunging strikes, but he was scared of the takedown so he just sat there neutered eating strikes lol.

Easy W for Khamzat, he outstruck and outgrappled DDP.

He had 22 minutes of control time in a 25 minute fight. When exactly was all this stand up you saw

I respect Khamzat’s singular skill, his takedowns, but what’s puzzling is for all the control he had, he couldn’t finish his opponent. When you have that much top control, in theory, you should be able to submit them or ground & pound them into a nasty finish. Dricus had great positions twice, and I was more worried about him pulling out a submission or tko finish than I was Khamzat, who seemingly can’t take you out unless you’re already stunned while on the feet…
