Opinion Is Jimmy Dore right wing now?

What neocons does he bash? Like actual ones or does he just pretend that the left is the new right? And everyone is anti-war in theory. In practice a lot of people who claim to be anti-war have supported Russia's invasion of Ukraine (and insisted we should let them be slaughtered) or defended Assad.

But you're a far-right guy. Do you see the problem?

I think 95/5 is about right.
I appreciate that you are less grumpy today but I think our back and forth here won't be settled considering that our classifications are so different. I don't always agree with him but I like his criticisms of Lindsey Graham and Schumer

Also, I at least don't consider myself "far right". I'm socially conservative and fiscally often more liberal. But label me however you wish, I hardly care anymore

Musk is using Twitter the same way Trump did. The only difference is that Musk is actually wealthy enough to buy it.

Musk has revealed that shadow banning was real, the market place of ideas was being subverted on purpose by the Left, and that Free Speech while not required on a social media platform is the right approach. We should all be thanking him, unless you like an authoritarian approach.

Always in personal attack mode, huh? Sad. Anyway, you're not really responding to any points here. It seems to me that at least you should understand why other people reasonably consider him to be a rightist figure.

I haven’t watched Jimmy Dore in a decade, so maybe a lot has changed in that time, but for people to rewrite history and say he was always on the right is hilarious. It’s just objectively false, and I’m assuming new definitions were written to categorize him as such. He is (or was) just a far left guy who primarily attacks the liberals/left since Obama’s second term.

Anti-establishment, populist, socialist guy. Like a Berniebro before Berniebros.

Did anyone actually say that?

He's clearly a nutty rightist now, whatever his views used to be. He's gotten rich enough that the amount of taxes rich people pay is probably the most important issue to him.

Let's put it this way. Jimmy door is too right-wing for The Young Turks which is two right-wing for breaking points which is too right-wing for a secular talk.

He can have whatever opinions he wants but he went way too far down the rabbit hole for most people.

When is the last time he's spent significant time arguing FOR a genuine left position: free college, universal healthcare, unions, medical debt forgiveness-- anything like that?

There's your answer to whether or not he is "on the left."
When he pushed to force the vote on Nancy pelosi for speaker. He told the squad to threaten to withhold their vote for universal healthcare. So now what?

Your post said he was “always” one of the worst people on the right, and a lot of people agreed with that. If by “always” you mean as far as he has been on the right…well I don’t even agree with that because the right truly has some retarded people, but it makes more sense.

But the obvious interpretation for me is that he has always been on the right which isn’t true.

Do you think that a stunt like that was designed to make UHC happen or just help Republicans (who universally oppose it) politically?

If someone sincerely wants UHC, they should be fighting to expand Democratic majorities in Congress.

OK, but I meant for a long time. It's not a new development.

I think it was intended to force a vote on universal health care. As he plainly stated.

To what end?
To either get medicare for all or flush out the false dems who would vote against it so they can be primary'd. Ive answered a few of your questions so now ill ask you one. Lets say the squad did hold their votes unless Nancy Pelosi agreed to a vote on M4A? What is the downside for Nancy? She could just agree and what is lost? Isnt her even making the vote happen a political win? Making all the republicans look bad? Remember this was during a pandemic.

How would it get M4A? The answer is that it wouldn't. It was a stunt for attention and to try to help Republicans in elections, which makes expansion of healthcare harder (remember almost all of them voted to cut Medicaid, remove regs requiring companies to offer insurance to employees, remove the profit cap, end exchanges and subsidies, etc.).

You didnt answer any of my questions. Typical. Answer the questions i asked if youd like to continue this conversation.

How is holding the M4A vote a loss for dems politcally?
What did Nancy Pelosi have to lose in doing so?
Wouldnt having an M4A vote fail during a pandemic hurt republicans and any one who would vote against it, likely leading to them losing in their next primary?

I don't think it's a case of right or left. I think he's just gone crazy.

He's angry and frustrated by imperfect allies who can't pass whatever purity test he makes up on the spot. So he sees them as enemies. When he attacks people on the left for not passing his purity test the right embraces him. They give him a platform, a pat on the head, maybe a cookie.

Outside of that he's just unwell. He seems obesessive, vindictive, paranoid, irrational, ideologically and morally inconsistent.

A few years ago I'd watch some of his videos, but over time it just felt like watching a man unravel. It felt gross and voyeristic.
The dude's burned so many bridges over the years.

That sounds like he was anti- a powerful mainstream Democrat.

Believe it or not, that alone doesn't signify being "on the left."

How does making a politician do what they said they would do make you anti them?
He wasnt calling for Nancy Pelosi to be voted out, he was calling for the democrats to hold her accountable and make her hold a vote on a left wing policy. And it didnt happen.

Why do you think they didnt have an M4A vote?
What was the downside for Pelosi and the democrats?
How does wanting your party to keep promises and pass policy, make you the other side?

Trying to label Jimmy a republican because he has standards when all you care about it tie color and the letter next to their name is flailing and completely transparently intellectually bankrupt.

What year was this?

Demanding democrats actually do what they got elected to do is republican now. Jack is top shelf dipshit. I mean really. Excelsior!
