Statistics are racist.
Averages: 10 inches vs. 5 inches. Racist but true.

Depends on where you go I like Mobay (Montego Bay) Kingston can get rough if you travel as a tourist you good, travel as a native be on your P's & Q's...

lol.
Yeah - St. Maarten, St. Barth’s, Turks and Caicos, Jost van Dyke (BVI) and various Bahamian islands are all above Jamaica in my list
I always tell people that it depends on what you are looking for.
if you want the feeling of a tiny secluded get away island where everything is formed around tourism then Jamaica is not your place. Many of the other islands are way better.
As one of the larger islands in the Caribbean it has a diverse population much of which is not around tourism. they have also had big issues with drug crime at times.
But few islands can compete with Jamaica for raw beauty or its topography. Few islands have mountains (Blue Mountain famous coffee), plains, valleys, rivers and rapids and falls and volcanic activity fed hot springs. A few islands have a little bit of some of that but not it all like Jamaica.
For those who do not like to just escape and hideaway on beaches and like to travel amongst locals and meet people and do stuff that is off the beaten path Jamaica is great if you are a savvy tourist.
Its the Caribbean. Jamaica as with all the island countries in that region are naturally beautiful.
They are all developing countries though so your experience will vary depending on what type of tourist you are.
If you're the wanderlust, off-the-beaten path type then the Caribbean is an excellent region to explore provided you properly plan and have basic common sense. Know the local culture, the ppl, the risks and plan your stay.
If you're the cruise ship, resort type then you best stay within those areas.

That is the weakest, tamest looking tourist spiced jerk chicken I've ever seen.
Jerk chicken should be slightly blackened and with lots of spice.
